Before time starts:

  • Make sure you have enough Play Coins. You'll need at least 130 or so, but having more to spare doesn't hurt.
  • Recruit two lvl 7 Old Allies with red shirts. It could be any Mii that fits the bill, but keep in mind short names save frames.
  • Hire two Wandering Heroes. Their color is randomized, but red, purple, orange, or pink shirts may cause the wrong team-up and cost a few seconds.

Throughout the run:

  • Hold L or R the whole time.
  • You can skip the map transition between battles by mashing A.
  • When you Combo Attack, killing your target means you can go again without having to buy a Vial of Valor.
  • Any time "Combo x2" (or more than two) is mentioned in this guide, you'll need to use a Vial of Valor in between each.
  • After using a Vial of Valor, there's a one in three chance your wandering hero will be in the front. Sending them to the back of the line costs a few seconds each time.

Perilous Prairie: Entrance - Yellow Slime x2: Defeat with Combo Magic. Exit - Yellow Ghost, Yellow Slime: Say no to the Helper Hare. Combo Magic ignores the shield and does just enough to take out the ghost.

Fork in the Road: Bewitching Bog. Just keep mashing A.

Bewitching Bog: West - Yellow Ghost, Yellow Slime: Same deal as Prairie exit. East - Blue Ghost (x2?): Combo magic one-shots, and hits both at the same time.

Merciless Mountain: West - Blood Ghost: Immune to Red Magic, so Combo Attack. East - Granite Golem: Combo Magic.

Fork in the Road: Swamp of Sacrifice

Swamp of Sacrifice - Green Slime: Pay to break the shield. It's immune to damaging magic and has really high evasion. Solo Attack until it's defeated. Use Vial of Valor as needed.

Mount Malice: West - Iron Golem: Pay to put out the fire. If you only have one lvl 7, send them to the back of the line and buy a Vial. Combo Magic one-shots (pretty odd since he was just in a fiery room :P ) East - Pink Slime: Combo Attack does enough to one-shot.

Castle of Darkness: Entrance - Diamond Golem: Combo Magic x2. There's no way to one-shot him, and magic is a quicker animation. Courtyard - Reaper Captain, Marauding Mummy: Pay to heat up the room and send in a scout. Combo Attack the Reaper to get rid of the barrier, then Combo Magic the mummy. Throne Room - Armored Demon, Reaper Commander: Pay to brighten the room. The Reaper uses Curse Gas, which can nullify an Attack or Magic.

  • Risky Strat: Combo Attack Reaper. Combo Magic Armored Demon.
  • Safe Strat: Buy a Dispelling Draft with one lvl 7. Attack Reaper with the other. Buy a Vial. Combo Attack the Reaper. Combo Magic Armored Demon. Roof - Armored Archfiend: Combo Magic x2.

Ultimate Ghost: One of your lvl 7s will run away. The level-down gas decreases your damage and adds a bunch of extra text boxes. Buy a Dispelling Draft with the other lvl 7, then buy a Vial. Combo Magic x2, then Combo Attack.

Dark Emperor: Also spews level-down gas. Buy Dispelling Draft with one lvl 7, attack with the other. Combo Attack x4. If you missed twice when solo Attacking, which is unlikely, you'll need to take an extra turn.
