What emulator is recommended?

I'm not sure if there is a recommended one but I use FCEUX 2.2.3 and have never had an issue, although I finally have a working NES and thus won't have to use emulator anymore, but if you use FCEUX I would suggest you display your FPS and inputs to help the mod(s) when verifying a run.
