Sorry for the edit which looks like a re-submit, the date was wrong for whatever reason
We'd sooner add a car variable than something like this tbh, not a bad idea, I like slow cars myself a lot, but like golden said it's just creating empty boards
Thanks for the question about Game 100%, noone realized there was no info about the objective, it has been added now. Goal is to get 100% in Career and beat all Challenge Series races (in any order), you don't need to do any reward cards (and that's impossible anyways since there are online cards too)
Yeah exactly as chiwie said, WCG stands for World Cyber Games, it's a competition that was held back when the game was new. Basically that competition had their own set of rules which was to play with no Uniques and that's what we've adapted as a name/category in the past.
Similarly they held tournaments for Carbon and WCG banned specific cars from being used, and Carbon WCG also bans them
some games are on the category extension board already, they'll be moved here when we set it up
Imo definitely allowed, for one it doesn't look particularly useful, but overall it's any% so anything goes, nice find if you manage to save time with it
New or not new, the new site design sucks and these miscallenaous categories are difficult to spot :l
Both should work the same, ea play is the replacement for origin
- The rules don't say replays are allowed (idk if there are any on the board right now, per rules I wouldn't verify that but idk)
- There's already a rule about visibility
- That's already a thing, pausing = reject or adding the paused time to the final time
- also already a thing, covered by general gameplay rules
Jeez, timebug all over again but this time cause by emulator exploits? Great.
There's the NFSR Discord that's also linked on every NFS sr.c page https://discord.gg/0q21vTfIVQ7xibxy
You could've sent me this through DMs or on discord but sure xd Re-submit it when you get the video done
Yes, currently we also remove the crashes from LRT to keep the competition more fair and less RNG dependent.
I believe the amount of time removed is last frame of the game before crash, to first frame of loading screen after coming back to game and pressing "continue," but it's been @SlivenKage doing the retimes so far so he'd have to confirm.
Note that you don't have to manually retime your runs before submitting, we have to re-check it again anyways so unless you're doing it for your own comparison it's not worth your time
99% games on speedrun.com, competetive or not, require video proof for every run. It's just common sense no vid no did and who knows how much someone cheated or not.
If you can get a clear recording of the screen with your phone then it's gonna be enough as long as everything is visible, but the easiest way is to buy any capture card which you connect to PC and add as a source in OBS, I reckon the cheapest ones are like 20$ at best and they still give you a decent enough recording.
I think it's not even max%, since it still revolves about unlocking stuff that the game itself doesn't track, not playing through casual content like quick race. Imo max% = 100% for this game
In no other game the 100% run requires you to do stuff that doesn't unlock anything. 100% refers to 100% completion, obtaining everything the game can considers as part of its % completion (and if game doesn't track that - literally everything), not performing 100% of every possible in-game action
On the other hand @Alpha_Ni glitchless/inbounds/NMG/NoNOS categories have a reason and a purpose to exist as well. People want to have more things to compete or express their skill in.
Simply - it's a different kind of challenge, I uphold that the fastest way should be the main category, almost always (most definitely always for ILs), but as a category split this is completely fine too.
I would argue that the OOB route changes the route so much for these races, that they could even have separate entries on the leaderboard, think of them as a different racetrack completely since you have to drive a different path.
There used to be an idea of recording an official video explaining timebug extremely in detail. We even had the script ready but nothing more ever happened, unfortunately.
