One of the WR's 4 rounds didnt get a Bonus Round. Is this RNG? I have over 100 attempts and have never once skipped a bonus round.

Just because you see speedrunning about self improvement doesn't mean the community as a whole must.

And your argument about pay to win is invalid because as you said, the cart USED to go for a lot. And if you separated the ladders, There is no way it can be p2w because xbox plays on xbox and n64 plays on n64. People can play what they got.

The Filter option doesnt give WR to players who DESERVE them. If someone sinks hours and hours into a game to get 17th place, but 1st n64. Is that a wr with the way you have the leaderboard set up? Because the player, any viewers, and possible new players would probably like to think so.

And you can bring up SRC communities that refuse to change because of lazy moderators and "too many games to go through" when I can also bring up arguably the biggest SRC or Speedrun in general community in SM64. What game would you really like to follow?

I recently started running Polaris Snocross. It's a snowmobile racing game with a mix of wave race and 1080 physics. Super hidden gem. Only like 5$. Playstation and N64.

Rugrats in Paris is also a very underrated speed game! Very beginner friendly with 5 different difficulties, 4 of them completely empty. Very Cheap! Playstation and N64.

Since Xbox one version is faster than the N64 version wouldn't it be wise to separate the ladders with a variable?

Only negative is extra work on moderators which is a small price to pay in the amount of players it could bring to the community.

Speedrunning is about racing games on an even playground and I see nobody sinking time into learning a game where they automatically start with a deficit.

Nobody should have to buy a Xbox one to speedrun an N64 game, your community is essentially pay to win with the pay wall being a new gen console. Not good for bringing in new players.

I recently obtained a copy of conkers on n64, I only speedrun n64, and I have this same conversation in every SRC community. Definitely a topic worth discussion

I've definitely noticed how competitive N64 leaderboard are but that only makes me more excited. I love the competition!

Rugrats in Paris "Very Easy" category is a very beginner friendly run to get you into speed running! Its an adventure game based on collecting golden tickets by completing mini games, things like bumper cars or whack-a-mole. 0 glitches to learn so the game is all movement based, a little RNG and just getting good at each mini game. Once you learn the route you could easily put a top 3 run on the leaderboard! I'm one of the Moderators and we would love to see new players!

Going for the record of most N64 WR's held by 1 person simultaneously. I've been speedrunning since I was a child, racing games with CRT's side by side or carrying around N64 carts just to pop them in and show off our times, but never started recording runs until VERY recently and boy am I glad I did. My GV-USB2 just arrived and my laptop is on the way! MY first console was a N64, I played other games prior but they were my older brothers, so that is why I am so fond of the N64! Excited to meet all these new people and see just how far I can go with my goal!

My first name is Casey. There were 6 Casey's in my high school class. Whenever someone brought me up, it would always get the response, "Casey who?" And it stuck.

I got turk skip earlier tonight following the tips you gave me on N64! Ruined the run on Clayton sadly. :(

I'm assuming you dont have tarzan on the n64. :(

@china How accurate is the emulator you used on your N64 WR compared to actual hardware? Have you tested the load times? Rugrats in Paris has drastically different load times on emu is why I ask.

EDIT: I noticed a difference between levels, on N64 you get a screen mentioning a rumble pack. Would you happen to be playing with one? Or does the emu skip the screen? If it does skip the screen it doesn't have me hopeful for how well it actually emulates the game. Hardware consistency is important when you have so many categories and pc/emu players have their own leaderboards imo. Just a thought! My run should be up today hopefully!
