@Portic, I will not make you a mod, and I don't think there is anything you can do to change my mind at the moment.

First of all, the fact that your last run is or is not legit is irrelevant here imo. Because even if it is, you were cheating very few moments ago, and I cannot simply ignore that. As I try to see the bright side in many things in life, I do believe that people can change, and that someone who cheated can become a legit runner. But man, it is just too soon, how do you expect us to believe you on your word just yet?

On that subject, I am also ok to accept some runs without videos (mine on the leaderboard wasn't recorded after all), depending on the context. But you should know that I will not accept yours until I think we can trust you again. For that, as Spike suggested, please provide videos of your runs, even if they are bad quality, made by a crappy phone pointed at your TV. Even if they are not your PB, so at least we have something to actually rely on. You could also try to find new strats/glitches to prove you actually have interest in this game. There are many thigs you can do to try to improve your situation, and wanting to become a mod is not one of them.

And about that, I would have refused to make you a mod even without all this cheating stuff and such. Firstly, because yours included, there were less than 10 runs submitted for the 7 years this game has been on speedrun.com. We are already two mods, there is absolutely no need to have a third one. As you pointed out on my YouTube channel, yes, your first runs took several weeks before getting accepted. I was away from src for a bit more than a month because of personnal stuff, so I haven't seen your submission until recently. But that should not happen most of the time. And for what it's worth it is a pretty standard time to have a run reviewed on many leaderboards, although I agree that shouldn't be the case here. And lastly, you cannot come here, with just a run (legit or not, that is not the point), and claim you want to be a mod. It just doesn't work that way. Just imagine for a sec that you manage a local non-profit organisation which provides a place with games, consoles and such, for its members to play without having to buy all of that. A dude shows, plays a bit, then ask you for the keys. Are you really gonna give them the keys, without knowing anything more of them? I wont. When you are in charge of something there are responsabilities with it, and you can't just ignore that.

Because all of that, no I will not give you moderator privileges. That is for the moment out of the question. But as I said, if you want us to trust you, then give us reasons (and I mean actual reasons, not words), I'd be very happy to change my mind!

Hello :) I play Yu-gi-oh Forbidden Memories since I am young, and I am thinking of speedrunning this game. I read the tutorials on this site, but I have still 2 questions.

1. Why do you fight Seto 2 ? It would obvisouly be faster not to fight him and the Labyrinth Mage, and I don't think it is done to collect good cards, as you don't farm them after.
2. What is the easy mode ? I read that a couple of times but I can't find what is it

Can you say approximatively how big is the difference between an emulator run and a console run in real time ?

I agree in saying that the community is here, but what you can see looking at the leaderboards don't exactly reflects how active is the community. I mean some people (including myself) play very regularly this game, but can't beat their PB, giving the impression that they stoped playing, which is not always right

I will do a test run of a "No OoBs" run in the following days. I will post it here so you can tell your opinion about if this category would be interesting to play or not :)

I think the "All Boss Tokens" is a good idea. I admit I don't know any of the glitches you mentioned, but still the concept seems to be nice :) And I also agree with you about arbitrary categories. About the "No OoBs" category suggested, it's mainly to have a category where you have to play most of the game, and have to think of what route is the fastest, without having to make every boring stuff, such as challenges where you have ti press inputs in correct order to gem a 25 gear. I think some areas (Moon Valley, Baboon Realm for example) offer many possibilities about route planning, so I find it interesting. That is my opinion :)

As it's now possible to beat the game very quickly because of the finding of a new way to reach OoB in Granwich, I think maybe it would be nice to create a new category, "No OoB". Longer than any%, but faster than 100%. What do you think ?

Hi everybody ! :) You may already know that the 7th level, the Ice Cave, has a secondary exit on the platform above the place where you begin the level. You are supposed to get the double jump potion at the end of the level then go back to the beginning to reach the platform. I make this thread because I think it's possible to go to the secondary exit without the double jump, and so save about one minute by skipping almost the whole level. There are some interesting things that I found, and that can be useful :

1. At the beginning of the level, if you jump then go back to the left just before the cutscene triggers, you can run under the snowball so you will be behind it http://image.noelshack.com/minis/2015/37/1441961955-sles-017-49-10092015-212041-0679.png

2. Once it kicks the snowball, the enemy on the platform starts moving. If you jump next to the platform with a correct timing, the enemy will hit you so you will be ejected http://image.noelshack.com/minis/2015/37/1441961955-sles-017-49-10092015-212254-0965.png

3. If you are facing right when being hit, you can sometimes be ejected higher than the top of the platform. But as you can't control the smurf during a damage ejection, touching the platform will set your horizontal speed to 0, so you wont be able to move to stand on the platform

BUT maybe with a correct (and probably very precise) positioning, the smurf will not touch the platform during the damage boost, so you will automatically reach to platform. And if it's not possible, maybe there is a way to regain control of the smurf when he is high enough, so we can move left to reach the platform

It's not sure that this Ice Cave Skip is even possible, but I think it's good to share it here. Maybe together we will succeed to perform it, and even find a consistent way to do it :)

Yeah, I watched your run. The use of umbrarium very surprised me, because I haven't use this item ever, so I didn't know it could be that useful ^^' I think I will start running this game in the following days. But now I am working to find some tricks, and unintended shortcuts. I havn't find anything really useful for now, but if I'm still searching. I'm sure we can find very cool stuff :)
