Diversity matters, representation and Mods selection transparency
Tuvalu

I have been hesitant to write this post, I didn't want it to be me starting this conversation, but hey! Here we are with the drama...

I personally find it... let's say surprising that all mods are all from one single country USA, especially after rumors of discriminations and racism the RE2r community had (either true or false the rumors were).

It's no secret that runners have left the RE community (even WR holders), others have left the SRC.com site all togheter as form of protest, and others are not joining the RE3remake race all because of the same reason.... as well as runners were banned because they spoke up (aka harassment really?)

RE2r and this game are likely to be among the most speedrunned games of all SRC.com site, with runners joining the race from all over the world. Is it too much to ask for an equal or more fair representation of Mods (for example by region)? You have 8 mods now, I say they should be 2 from NORAM, 2 from LATAM, 2 from EMEA and 2 from APAC, or anyway something close to it, which would represent better the diversity of the "population" of runners, that would also come in handy with mods from different timezone which can answer posts, verify runs etc.. at different time zones.

Console runners should also have a representation for the same practical reasons, and for a fair representation when rules will need to be decided.

How did you decide the Mods even before the game is out?

It would be really nice to give a good message before runs start..... you choose which message you want to pass.......

Not sure on the claims of racism, but my immediate thoughts when looking at the mod list is they're all moderators of more recent playstyle Resident Evil leaderboards. Basically things post-2000 era.

I don't think this has anything to do with "only mods from USA!" - just active mods of non-classic RE games. Most of them respectable runners at that.

This thread seems like it's just trying to stir the pot from some apparent previous drama and start problems where there isn't any to be had, really.

Judging from the account created only an hour or so ago and the allegations, I would assume this is some sort of bait thread almost immediately, though what Cursed Toast has said mostly covers it.

It's probably someone who is active in the community and made this account because they were afraid of scrutiny if they posted this under their primary alias. If you genuinely have an issue with who the mods are, there's a way better way to go about expressing your concerns and us having a real conversation about that without masking who you are in the first place. That in and of itself discredits whoever decided to start this thread.
