Poke's answer reflects how I would answer as well.

Furthermore, I'm more or less a verifier for the PokéPark series as I'm the most active/dedicated person to these games. Any actual changes on leaderboards and rule sets go through the series mods. If I were to get more runs with videos attached, I'd consider throwing the question to them "is it okay to add this as a category now?"

Within nearly 3 years of me running this game, I'm still the only person to have a recorded video of a 100% and True 100% run. I don't see much activity for any% as it is anyways.

Making a separate thread for this because it's ever so slightly different than 100%.

True 100% is a joke category that's been talked about a handful of times but now it actually has a completed run.

The only difference between True 100% and 100% is that this category requires you to "Best Friend" all 193 Pokepark Pokemon (Rainbow Parkpad next to their name). I also made it a point to add in the four legendary Pokemon you get through using passwords for the sake of "True 100%", though you aren't ever actually required to talk to them within the game.

Dude. Chill with the amount of forum threads. It's cool that you're excited to run and play the game, but please don't make a separate thread every single time you want to talk about something here.

Hey all!

Submissions are finally open as of tomorrow at noon (PDT)! As listed on the about page, they'll be open up until July 8th at midnight, which is a little over a month away from today, so you'll have plenty of time to consider what runs to submit!

If you do submit, please join our Discord server!

This thread serves as a guide for what you should be putting in the "Submit run" form, and for any possible questions that a runner may have.

Game: Self-explanatory.

Category: Self-explanatory.

Why should this be shown at Speed Stuff 4 Charity 5?: A short (less than 5 sentences) description of why you believe the run you're submitting would make a good fit. It's okay to leave this section blank, but filling it out helps!

Video: Self-explanatory. Please submit a video with your submissions.

Platform: What console your run will be on (some games are available on Wii and XBOX360, or PC and PS4, so pick the one you're running on).

Region: Self-explanatory.

Additional players: For co-op or races if you're submitting co-op runs or races. Please separate with commas if more than 2 players total.

Estimate: The absolute longest your run will take considering all "worst-case scenario" events, and still be able to finish within. Edit: PLEASE SUBMIT ALL ESTIMATES IN RTA TIMING (REAL TIME ATTACK). DO NOT SUBMIT IGT (IN-GAME TIME) AS YOUR ESTIMATE.

Availability: If you have strict availability or requests (i.e.: I would prefer not to have a graveyard or early morning run), please put that here. I know the marathon is a little under 2 months away and it's hard to tell this early on what your schedule may be, but give the answer that will be as accurate as possible. If needed, please inform a marathon moderator of your availability changes.

Incentive suggestions: Suggest donation incentives, bid wars, possible co-op runs, or game races here. Be as descriptive as possible. Please separate each incentive or suggestion with a numbered list, pipe (this what you call pipe ---> | ), or 5 hyphens together (such as -----).

That should be everything! Once again, you have a little over a month from the day of this forum post to get your submissions in. Should you have any questions, please feel free to drop them down below!

Yes, I totally copy pasted this from the last marathon. #ModerationWorkIsHard

Hey all,

So I've noticed that SMS bingo is still alive and well. I occasionally catch streams of bingos (and occasionally do them myself from time to time lately). I want to share the master sheet that I've kept around on a public thread for usage.

Link to the spreadsheet: http://bombch.us/B5ok (it's a long google doc link so I used bombch.us to shorten it)

I've been told before by people that this sheet completely devalues learning the game or any knowledge thereof and should be terminated. I personally don't agree with that as bingo is just a fun way to play the game without the constraints of speedrunning it. It's fun to run all around the game collecting goals instead of doing constant resets for a PB. Sure, you could argue this also devalues competitive bingo for Sunshine, but from what I can remember, those that were in the 2v2 tournament are all old runners (and/or top level runners at that). They've basically memorized this sheet without having to look at it.

Another reason why I've kept this is because I tend to see new runners or completely new players who are interested in bingo, but get destroyed because of not having 120 Shines knowledge, or any blue coin knowledge. I think it's fine for new runners to use this as a reference, especially against some of the goals they wouldn't know otherwise (seriously, there's only a handful of runners that can name off all blue coins from enemies or turbo nozzle locations). This spreadsheet only lists what they go to and what shine/stage you can find them. Some have loose references of location, others don't have any reference, few have a lot of info. It's just the way I ended up writing some of it.

I may be overthinking this from the last time I've talked to people about this, but I just felt like getting that out of the way.

One last thing: Sincere gratitude to 1UpsForLife who made the original Master Sheet (which I basically stole and updated at my own convenience). More than half of this is from her layout.

Other than that, happy bingo. If people really don't like this for whatever reason, I'll take it down.

@MiyKam

I don't know version differences, but as it stands right now, there aren't enough runs on the leaderboards to warrant a sub-category as of yet. Unless there's massive differences (game breaking glitches on console vs. not on DS), they'll stay together.

Texas, USAdeathline6 years ago

A. Benobram moderates the Hot Wheels series. B. I requested this game when SRC was made a few years ago, so having a run wasn't necessary then. C. Fuck outta here with that bullshit lmao. I played this game to shit prior to SRC being a thing. I'm just not particularly interested in speedrunning it. Ever.

Texas, USAdeathline6 years ago

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

I was the one who originally requested this game on SRC, but I ended up not actually making all the categories like I was supposed to, and I've just never got around to it. Oops. I'll get to it. Soon. Hopefully.

Texas, USAdeathline6 years ago

I'm bumping this because this exists: https://www.speedrun.com/sms/guide/o7a51

There's a number of other small differences not listed.

When do we get All Blue Coins as a misc category? :^)

@EmeraldAly

I wouldn't know about past submissions since I've only come to be staff on SS4C recently. However, with that being said, I don't think it's a fair assumption that you'd inherently have your runs rejected just because they weren't accepted in a prior SS4C marathon. You're more than welcome to submit this year, or you can always choose not to if you don't feel confident in your submissions. If you do choose to submit, just know that all the runs this year are being checked and talked about through our submission committee. We will be fair about the runs we accept and decline. That is something I can assure you of.

@SmashEBrada - You're free to post a pic of your IGT if you want. IGT in 100% should be down to the same minute (give 1 if you're close to a new minute). @Mewshmallow - The reason why 100% isn't an actual category is because there aren't enough recorded runs of it. There are 3 known runs, as of now. My recorded WR, heero_fred's unrecorded 7:3x:xx, and Smash's unrecorded 7:52. If there were more recorded runs, it may be more feasible to ask the LB mods to consider making it an "official" category.

Texas, USAdeathline7 years ago

Mash 1 and 2 fast. That's the best advice I can give. As a side note, make sure the text is set to "Fast" in the options before playing the game.
