Yes, such a change is not a problem.
You can use the Gadgetlemage program: https://github.com/CapitaineToinon/Gadgetlemage
However, such runs are not allowed to be submitted to the leaderboards and serve practice purposes only.
Yes, you simply select Elden Ring in your splits in LiveSplit and press activate. Also make sure to compare against game time.
We are trying not to be overly reliant on this website and prefer hosting the most of the community's errands on our own side. Thus, must of the happening occurs at either the SpeedSouls Discord or the SpeedSouls wiki page.
I believe you have already joined the Discord, but for future reference, that is generally the best place to ask for help with such things.
Category extensions are generally disliked by most of the DS1 players interested in the leaderboards. Furthermore, in no way or shape does a viewer interest mean anything for the creation of new categories. We appreciate your input and I personally understand where you're coming from, although disagree.
The logic of categories first, runs second is somewhat turned around and really isn't warranted in 99% of cases.

Do not forget that a run where the program gives you the drop is invalid.
Hey, thanks for reaching out. According to our definitions, this would most certainly NOT count as a glitch.
Adding a new category has no set procedures, but what I would look for generally is this:
- it introduces a new style of gameplay, distinctively separating it from the current categories (whether that is new glitches, different routes...)
- it does not have a completely arbitrary goal
- there is clear interest in competing in such a category by at least a few people.
Hey danzeratus,
the only category having a Glitchless variant is Any%, as that is by far the most popular. There does not seem to be enough interest in adding any other ones at the moment, but that doesn't stop you from running Glitchless SL1 yourself. Absence of leaderboards doesn't mean you can't do it on your own.
Furthermore, SL1 is all about not levelling your character and upgrading the Pyro Hand is completely normal.
If there are any further questions, let us know.
As long as the texture doesn't provide you an advantage, then yes. Note that such mods are still handled on case by case basis and me saying this doesn't mean your run won't get rejected.
That is correct, yes. The FPS feature has to be completely turned off, then you are fine!
The run had been performed and approved before the rule was in place.
