Doesn't 1413 have garbage can physics that Kyusuke was testing out the other day?
Ewil is right, but that's counting time loss from failed attempts. In theory it's a two - three minute time save if accomplished on the first try, but the trick is so finicky that it might be faster to just complete the laundry pickup instead of attempting the skip over and over.
How does the community feel about a 100% category? That is, all errands must be completed, that means the laundry pick up on Wednesday and clinic visit on Friday. I think it could make this game more accessible, because a player would not need to perfect the gimp cutscene skip.
EDIT: Pacifist runs could be made a Misc. category as well, after all, the game recognizes them with a ranking
I did some light testing on the current patch (30-45 mins of it) and didn't get results. A bit of light clipping sometimes, but never all the way through the ground. I found a copy of the pre-Steam edition but haven't tried to test this exploit.
The possibility that the 'stuck' system is based on FPS is intriguing. I don't think any changes are needed for a specific release or anything. I'm looking into a massive skip on Thursday at the moment that I've seen performed, but I couldn't replicate it on the Steam edition. And I mean MASSIVE. Maybe retail version will be the future of Postal 2 speedruns.
Maybe for running Monday, but for Any% I don't think it's a trend that'll catch on soon.
If it's confirmed, then with the current route that'll only make it easier to accomplish the window jumps at Bank and the RWS office then. Stefeende also mentioned that he was playing unpatched. If any other interesting details come out then I'll consider looking into obtaining a copy.
