I was doing my first run of Deltarune and I was really happy with how it was turning out... until it gave me a code error when I tried walking out of the first box puzzle room. I tried reopening the game but it took almost 10 minutes so I decided to cut my losses and reset. Before this, one of my other runs died to a code error on the first card puzzle. Is there any way to not get these errors? The log was:

############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Draw Event for object obj_darkcontroller:

stack frame is gml_Object_obj_darkcontroller_Draw_0 (line -1)

Recently I've been testing a route that helps with the final boss. Before there wasn't really a route at all that I used, I just freestyled the upgrades. Here's an overview of the route: Try to get at least $25 getting to the third upgrade screen to upgrade punching to 2. Play the game as normal until you get the resourceful badge. Once you do this, upgrade punching to 3 and swinging to 2. Play the game normally except without upgrading until Emerald Temple. Once you get there, break the vases that contain money. Your goal is to get $280 to buy punching 4.

So, as you know, my WR of 27:06 got bopped after a month by a guy named Soldadito. He has no history on SRC and his splits showed that his PB was actually 26:25, which I'm assuming was done offline. I'm not saying that rising to the top in a fast amount of time is automatically proof of cheating, but the fact that he just started speedrunning and snagged a WR that beat out a run that took a month to get seems... suspicious to say the least. Sure, this isn't the most active game in the world, but that's still worth investigating. In addition, he didn't use either form of the ATCC, which I've struggled to beat my 27:06 with even after incorporating it. His framerate is also incredibly unstable, jumping around from being a consistent 30 to skipping a frame at a time to skipping 2, which could just mean he has a really bad PC but his rise is making everything harder to believe since he doesn't stream his runs either (to my knowledge anyway). I really hope this suspicion isn't warranted and that we can see if his run is legitimate.

I watched the WR progression Daedlus made and now I want to start running the game. I heard him talk about how the last walljump has a bunch of different variables, so I was wondering what you had to do make it more consistent.

Some ideas for potential categories (would probably go in misc. or category extensions): Any% All Upgrades: Start from an already existing file with all the upgrades bought (timing starts on clicking start level on Cactus Canyon) Barehanded: Any% but you can't use weapons besides your bare fists (with the exception of the weapon tutorial in Cactus Canyon) Any% No Upgrades: Explains itself

I've noticed that fairly often, my inputs don't do anything? Anything from holding right to start running immediately after the loading screen to jumping to increase speed on ropes has a small chance to completely be completely skipped over by the game, often leading to a dead run. I really hope we can get an explanation so that the game can be less luckbased

I've been a fan of Cactus McCoy for a while, so I decided to speedrun it out of pure boredom. I've been grinding offline attempts for a good chunk of the day, with my PB being a 35:28 (a pretty bad time, I know, but I'm starting). In my 25ish total attempts, I've noticed quite a few things The biggest thing I've come across is the effect of taking damage. If you take damage near an enemigo, you'll clip through him. Once the run gets optimized, I can see this clipping (which I'll call Damage Clipping or just DCing) becoming the main tech used, at the very least out of the tech we've discovered. Another thing I've noticed is that Shady Springs is the main run killer. Things like the section with the boxing glove and pistol enemigo cause me more than my share of deaths fairly consistently due to the knockback, often resulting in a reset. I'll probably figure out more as I go, so this'll likely be a thread that's updating fairly often. Well, as updated as a thread for a game this niche can be.
