Is reloading legal?

One thing I figured out is that quitting out of the game as soon as Sans starts talking during his judgement and then reloading causes you to be able to skip through his dialogue. I’m new to speedrunning and I’ld like to know if this is legal or not. Thanks!

Yeah, that's perfectly fine.

England

I mean, most of the verified runs do that, so yes.

London, England

i guess so yeah.

Brazil

It shouldn't be! For me is ALLOWED CHEAT. I don't agree with this. And I will never agree.

North Carolina, USA

I mean going into the forum and saying it's cheating without proving your point won't do anything. There is a reason communities allow or ban certain tricks and if you want something changed you need to give something to the community to think about that they can't just rebuttal.

United States

This is an outdated forum, and you’re posting against 2 moderators who said it’s perfectly fine (drako was previously a mod at the time iirc). Never asked about your view on it, get it together.

Ontario, Canada

Reloading the game, the simple act of closing the game and reopening it is completely fine. It may not be intentional to close your game to skip a bit of a cutscene or retry a trick, but it is not cheating, other games allow the very same doing. The ruling stands and will never be changed.

Many runs on the board use reloading, so it’s definitely legal.

My point of view is because it is not natural. You skip stuff this way. But I'm not the boss. I'm only saying why I don't agree with it.

Florida, USA

It's "Glitchless", not "Skipless"

England

You don't want to go down the rabbit hole of what's 'natural'.

Not just in this game, but any game. Trust me, it's not worth trying to defend that avenue.
