Some of the people on the Speedrun Discord are curious about emulations since we don't know enough about it or how it affects the game. They have expressed wanting to speedrun with emulation, but I've never used emulation before, so I needed to ask someone with more knowledge about the topic. Mainly, they have referenced Dolphin as what they are asking about. The only thing we know is that it says on the game rules that (The only type of emulation allowed is USB loader), but they wanted to do it with Dolphin. If any person or moderator could let us know about emulators and the rules for them, as well as if Dolphin is allowed, we would really appreciate it. Thanks.

The rules state the situation with emulation as well as the forum post by FB_Productions. Emulators heavily decrease load times which is an unfair advantage therefore not being allowed. I am very against making a subcategory just for emulator if there is not plenty of interest from multiple runners.

I would be really interested in and I think some runners of the new server too. Also with this settings: Dolphin Version: 5.0 Enable Idle-Skipping: OFF Enable Dual Core: OFF I'm using for Super Mario Strikers (GC), I have no really difference to a real console. Maybe the Wii emulation part from Dolphin is different (I'm not sure) but for GC games it's completely fine. It might also be good if someone compares the times between console and emulator (with the settings mentioned). Thanks!
