Yeah, NMG is a bad name. It's just a common moniker in the greater SR community. Keeping the category name simple was important ("All Bosses, No Fish Fly, No S&Q" doesn't really roll off the tongue). NMS would make more sense but holy hell that takes explanation.
Naming things sucks. Taking more suggestions if anyone has them; I'm waffling between NMS and NMG.
Good to know, thanks Walach!
On a separate note, would you mind enabling embedding of your VODs? Right now your runs break the embedding on SRC.
I think NMS is a better name "for a while", because we havent found any skip like in the original version. If we find anything like in the original we can change to All Bosses or No Skip.
I'd like to request 100% category defined as "All Charmstones, Hearts, Dungeons and full Inventory" I know you prefer "no s+q", but I'd say we should allow it as it makes money grind less tidious. Here's my PB video - 1:22:48 :
Time starts upon selecting Boy/Girl Time ends upon losing control after collecting the cross with full inventory All hearts, charm stones, and equipment must be obtained All bosses must be defeated
Retro-mode cutscene skips are allowed Save & Quit is allowed Swim glitch is allowed
Sounds good, altho instead "All bosses must be defeated" I'd suggest "All dungeons must be completed", so you would have to do sunken ship from start to finish instead using boss warp after credits
Based on feedback on discord, here are our 100% rules:
Time starts upon selecting Boy/Girl Time ends upon losing control after collecting the cross with full inventory All permanent inventory items (hearts, charm stones, and equipment) must be obtained All dungeons must be completed
Retro-mode cutscene skips are allowed Save & Quit is allowed Swim glitch is allowed
Hey all - new to this speed run thing - love this game - will get nowhere near a world record but would love to give the easy any % a try - my question is can you die in the run or does it have to be "deathless" (im at work and cant really view the videos) cheers!
Another runner who deleted their account previously replied to the above post: dying is fine in runs, and is part of the strat for NMS. New runners shouldn't fret if they have deaths! :)
Based on some discussions and research I'm proposing a new rule specific to PC: It is possible to run the PC port of WB:TDT at an elevated framerate. As such, for PC runs, I propose that the in-game FPS counter must be shown for runs.
