Doing a quick google search, BAS-BAS23 had already found this, but it's a different method as far as I can tell.
or this should-be timesaver for sayonara --> US dupe (haven't done any official timing). I overwrote my rocket rampage replay because I'm a moron, but it should still work the same way.
regarding what mh posted:
- 22:30 weather is usually good during sayonara
- the rocket launcher is at the other location (next to the tree) in the current any% route
- you activated the grenade rampage at around :30 while current route activates it at around :40. so it saved 10s
- based on the vod, with a faster jump setup you could activate it at :20, since you were 7s early in the vod arriving to US
i have not tested doing the actual mission this way, but
- you might not have enough time to record the actual rocket rampage replay and make it back to the club
- there are major consistency issues with the megajump strat, even though it usually works
- grenades for sayonara could be inconsistent, i need to test that
What I've found is that if you touch anything right after you jump you die but if you jump from a place where you are mid air all the time (slope or something) you will survive.
edit: Also Sayonara Salvatore jump can be done like this:
Sorry for 2 vids, also note that if you land your first jump too early after you super jump you will slightly touch the piece that stands out in front of you = RIP so its still safer to do it with a car but I've had few times when even then I died.
blacklev, it's not inconsistent enough to lose all the time you'd save from picking up the rampage earlier. Grenades could probably be made more consistent if a reference point for throws was made. The rocket rampage should be in the same location as in the video, because in current any% you go make a replay over the alt. location and grab the normal one as well. Also about the weather, good thing that a 22:30 would have good weather. I just loaded some save that got up to Bait with the mission loader.
yes, you are right about the rockets, excuse my retardation. yes, it's fairly consistent, but the time save (20s max i'd say) is not worth the risk, IMO. although i still need to practice it extensively.
another thing is that i seem to be able to megajump on the docks as well, without dying. that saves time, too. although i have died once doing it
Consistency issues with the sayonara megajump:
edit: karl you simply just went too low and hit the ledge just before the water you should've jumped earlier and therefore from a higher position
I have consistency with this
I never instadie with this, but the angle needs some reference to make it onto the pier, obviously. For the megajump press up then jump right after so you don't fall off the ramp. As for the second megajump just look to the middle, once you're between the two posts you can perform the MJ
Megajump for The Exchange (100% strat)
There's also a potential jump from the dam entrance to the sniper, but I haven't found a good way to not get killed by doing it
Marty Chonks Megajump
Megajump from Rumpo Rampage to package
Megajump from Pike Creek to safehouse if you're too lazy to use the USJ
So are these all the megajumps that have been found? Or are there any other useful ones that aren't posted in this thread
It seems that megajumping to your death can crash the game on some occasions. If you dupe Evidence Dash and then die, this is the case, even though dying normally insta-passes the missions. No clue what causes this though
Faster setup for the megajump Omega posted for GTAero:

I post this again because pretty much nobody does this strat, even though it saves about 5s and it eliminates Armor loss completely. This means that you can take your time to get a fast car on SAM, which is an additional timesave
