Oh, yeah we did this. Only just seen that this was requested on the boards now, mainly affects new gen for cutscenes but there's also apparently infinite energy for having 100% so that changes things up a bit more.

Honestly I think you've worded the pointing me to the PC board VERY rudely here, especially when I'm only here because I'm trying to help. I do get that there is a PC board, I even edited the above post to acknowledge that.

At the same time, there isn't much reason to be so rude when I'm just documenting how to fix it. I'm on topic for this thread. When theres quite literally a post saying "If you managed to get the PC version running nicely, I'd love to know how!" and I come in explaining how, I wouldn't expect for someone to just be dismissive and rude to me for answering the question.

I will, however, stop posting about this. I was planning to try and figure out how to fix video playback next (which should hopefully then make it valid for runs) but at the same time I don't really want to look into that anymore. This is just me trying to help by documenting how I fixed things since this thread is quite about how the PC version doesn't work. Being dismissive just makes me want to stop compiling fixes for it.

Got the music working using this tutorial: https://www.play-old-pc-games.com/compatibility-tools/_inmm-dll-tutorial/

This basically just meant: rip the music from the disc, put it in the game filepath (Glover/Data/Sound) and point it there in the ini. Game now has the music without needing the disc inserted.

This means have the game completely patched and working on windows 10 with this fix included. (Aside from the cutscenes still being removed)

I could distribute this if needed? Its basically just the skychase patch hardware mode enabled and music working

Yo, years late to the thread and not a runner - but here goes.

I got a patch from here: https://skychase.zone/gloveres/pcfix.html

This got the game working, albeit without the music, but the actual game is running properly in hardware mode with a couple of tweaks. The music likely streams from disc, I won't be able to test if it works with an iso mounted virtually until I rip and mount the disc myself. I have a copy arriving soon and will be able to properly check then.

By default its going to launch in software mode, it looks like ass and has major stretching issues. Swap your card in the config tool to either 3DFX Voodoo Chipset or Creative Labs Graphics Blaster Voodoo 2. (The former works but seems to have a lower draw distance? I've not tested much to see what card ends up having a config with the highest draw distance much yet.)

Other things: Apparently L-Cancelling is on f12, with no way to rebind that. I'm using steam input to remap things on my controller so the game is mildly more playable. (hence the accidental steam screenshots in the video) The game flickers or just doesn't output whatsoever if you enable Progressive scanline order in dgvoodoo This patch seems to completely disable FMVs, because they'd crash the game when they started playing normally on the PC build on modern computers.

Hopefully this helps. I'll also update if the music works when mounting the disc virtually, then outside of the FMVs being removed its pretty much playable?

edit: The music works without problems with the disc inserted, gonna look into a way to rip the game while leaving the audio tracks intact. That way you'd just be able to mount the image and have the music play without needing the disc. (also sorry for using the wrong forum! Didn't realise that the versions were split but I hope this information is useful regardless)

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean? The Wii/PS2 and PS3/360 versions are entirely different games which only loosely resemble each other (both mechanically and with what content is included).

People can run on an emulator, but only real hardware runs will show up by default on the boards and the consoles with major version differences are already split. I see no reason in making emulators an even further split since they're hidden by default right now, if anyone wants to see those runs they can just filter to include them.

Wii/PS2 is just the shorter (and I'd say more technical) run. All versions of the game are equally valid as runs. There would be no reason to swap to the Wii/PS2 version if you want to play the next gen version of the game. They're two vastly different runs and games mechanically.

backing up the request for Gibstack to be put on as a super, Croc has disappeared and also removed all of his old vods too so I doubt he's going to be back ever.

found this after a new WR of course. Assuming you get this first try it saves a good chunk of time but is pretty difficult. (edited out my mistakes so you don't need to watch me falling off like an idiot multiple times)

I'm updating the board to hide emulator times by default. Dolphin can't accurately emulate the outlines, PCSX2 just crashes sometimes and you need to use certain backends and hacks to even get the outlines working, PPSSPP has issues with load times compared to real console if anyone were to actually run the PSP release.

You can still run and submit EMU runs, they'll just be hidden on the board unless someone is actively looking for them. The old runs still exist (for example the PSP record which was on emulator) and you can still see it by just filtering to include emulators.

Given I'm the only somewhat active runner playing on an emulator and think this is a fair call, I'm going to nip the problem in the bud now in case it actually becomes a problem later down the line.

Took a year, but I got this fixed now. We shouldn't be having much of a problem with the mod setup anymore.

Moderation for TSG has been completely messed up for a very long time https://www.speedrun.com/tsg

Initially the only active mod for the game was pet_petiguana, before we made him tick that series mods had power over the game (back when that was still a thing).

We're now stuck with every series mod who doesn't care about the game left as supermods, with actual runners (myself, Kayumon, Woutt64 and LiquidWifi) being stuck with a massive amount of extra moderators who don't care about the game. I've already asked multiple people to just unmod themselves to no avail.

This is also a problem with the Simpsons series as a whole, where a bunch of people were added as series mods for no reason. Almost all of the additional series mods only care about Hit & Run. This is consistent across most of the games in the series, where it would be better to just leave actual runners as mods there since none of us can reasonably even verify runs of games I have no idea about.

New Bargain Bin route which just goes right to the end as Homer. I've not been able to do this consistently at all so forgive the awful jump cuts to attempts which finally worked, should be enough to get the point across.
