I don't really see point to adding a category that is essentially the same thing as an any% run. SMG isn't a hard game to get started with either, it's just a wii and one game disc, no region ports or anything are required whatsoever.

I feel like it would be a huge pain in the ass to convert loadtimes from all of the top times in the leaderboards, there's just so many different loads that it would result in lots of unnecessary amounts of time from the runners, or the people converting the runs into "loadless"

I understand the appeal to wanting to run on emulator, for it doesn't cost anything, and is easier to record, but I think in order to be competitive at a game, you need to be able to find the hardware to be able to run said game.

You can still do ILs like flipswitch, drip drop, all bowser levels, etc.

If you want to have a nice short run to practice that is.

Super Mario 64 has a glitch which allows Mario to clip through doors that he otherwise would not be able to access. This glitch enables Mario to beat the game with 0 stars, or only 1 star.

If you are looking for more condensed times, then you can refer to the level leaderboards, there you can compete with times on a singular galaxy.

At the moment these boards do not have singular stars (barring galaxies with a singular star) as far as I am aware. If enough interest pops up for these categories, perhaps the mods could implement it. The only issue it would add an additional 242 categories to the leaderboard, which would be, to put it lightly, extremely messy.

Okay, I understand he was a shitty person, I get that, I think that's clear at this point.

But does being a shitty person make it so you can't show someone your times? Its not like he's going to negatively affect the community by simply uploading times to a leaderboard.

As Jcool said, it just makes the leaderboards less accurate. Take Paper Mario at the moment, its a mess, there was a controversy and people took their times off, now the leaderboard is inaccurate.

I dunno, do as you guys see fit, but I think that the accuracy of a leaderboard is more important than holding spite for past actions, seriously, just be the better guy in the situation, forgiveness is a virtue.

To say I don't know the exact details of the situation is quite true HDlaxbm, but I do understand that if Veman would want to upload his personal times to this board, I would personally have no problem of him doing as such. He'd obviously have to drop the cheating, but as Snap has eloquently stated for me, its a way of revenge.

Do what you guys want, but personally, this feels wrong. Yes, the guy has made mistakes, I understand that he hasn't exactly been apologetic about it, but times are times, and as long as that specific time is legal, it should be allowed.

But a cheater in the past, while vile, is in the past. Speedrun.com is not a place for drama and refusal for times, but rather a place for people to see what their personal times compare to other people's times. Now, if someone submits a run that is obviously cheated, then deny the run. However, if Veman would to set a world record, I would like to see it myself, I want to compare to the worlds' best time of this game, even if the person cheated in the past.

It just takes a simple check to see if he is cheating the run that he uploads, its not like his past actions are going to affect his runs in any way.

So I got the bios and now my screen is just black. I updated the settings to please it.

If I take the gbc_bios.bin out of the GBC bootrom box my game runs normally however.

Whats this fabled bootrom you speak of?
