This is a verbatim post from the one I did in F1 2010. Yet. I still need to work on rewriting the rules for 2010 and then I'll proceed with 2011. But, anyways, I'll let y'all know the new ruleset we'll be using here.

As per Thursday August 16th, 2022.

Well... well... well. How the turntables.

This took quite more than I expected to, tbh. It was obviously my fault and my responsibility so I take that. Nevermind, here is the new ruleset that'll apply for new submissions to FS Lap% and other categories. (Yeah, I need to retime 3Lap% but in my mind, the order of doing this was:

  • Retime 1Lap%
  • Post rules
  • Do 2011
  • Retime higher lap% runs (because those are categories less played than 1Lap%.

Still, I will try to have finish this by Sunday 21st, August 2022.

We now have LRT, IGT and RTA separate columns, each of which symbolizes something different, as you may notice by the current table. Let me explain how this'll work.

Please, ask anything confusing about this here or @ me in Discord. My socials are in my profile. Just say you're coming from sr.c and I'll be explaining anything without any problem. If you think this isn't fair, also, please comment on this. Please.

Without further ado:

LRT will be the main timer.

This is the timer given by the game when the race is finished. Penalties, if had, will be handled and removed by moderators (TSF or myself). Flashbacks will also not be considered. This is only the race time. You can use any setups you want and cut corners and everything else, given the fact you don't get disqualified. It really goes with the speedrunning spirit, imho. However...

IGT will handle any penalty or flashback you use.

Namely: Say that you had an awful Singapore GP (as I had in F1 2011), and you used the 4 flashbacks, each one adding 7s because you just used it and that's it (not searching the exact frame to help yourself out of the dire situation you got into) (We will look into the time you consumed within the flashback). Also, you couldn't flashback a cutting corner and got another 5s penalty for a total time of (just for the sake of argument): 2:06.234. That'll be neither your IGT nor your LRT. IGT will add the penalty and the flashback times.

Your LRT will be: 2:06.234 (your time) - 0:05.000 (the penalty) = 1:59.234s for Singapore.

Your IGT will be 2:06.234 + 0:28.000 (4 x (0:07.000)) = 2:34.234 for Singapore.

I know it sounds confusing, but it'll be fair. At least that's what I think.

RTA will still be used, but it's not mandatory now to have a timer

After a long of thinking, RTA makes no sense. The timer isn't mandatory either as we can retime with the tools Internet provide. The load times differ so much within two different platforms, so it's just weird. We'll still keep them just in case there is a tie in LRT and IGT. And if you think that'd be extremely rare, as I also think it'll be, I just want to remember y'all European GP (Jerez) Qualifying, 1997.

I will provide the spreadsheet once I finish separating every run into their single file. That'll be added into the description of every run submitted from now on.
