How do you know about this game's release date? I'm asking because I'm hoping to do something special for its 15th anniversary.

And yes I want to do something special for this game's 15th anniversary. I will probably just stream it, along with its sister game Moop & Dreadly which was released the same day.
Also, is it possible to play this on a modern computer without the need of emulation? Do I, like, need to change some code so that my computer excepts older programs?
This game runs absolutely fine on my 2013 Lenovo laptop running Windows 8.1. No emulation, capability mode, or file editing needed whatsoever. Very easy to run on modern computers. I can't speak for Windows 10 however.
It will not run a Mac post 2006 because Ollo is from 2002, it expects the Mac to be PowerPC based, when Apple switched to x86 in 2006, it made programs designed for PowerPC incompatible. So for Mac some kind of boot camp or VM would be needed.
To my knowledge there is no emulator made specifically for this game. ScummVM, which is a popular emulator for tons of old point and clicks, does not support this game. But like I said you shouldn't need an emulator. If the game really doesn't run for you, running an older operating system like Windows XP through a Virtual Machine is about all you can do.
