TL;DR Previously rules required you to start at tutorial explaining why so many runs do so. These rules are changed and now you can start at training which is faster.

There was a rule change a while back that changed the rules of Any% to be more in line with what Any% means - to beat the game as fast as possible without any restrictions. Previously the rules required you to start an Any% run at tutorial, but upon reviewing the rules, I removed that restriction so now you just need to complete the game as fast as possible. I didn't retime previous runs that started at tutorial because you can complete the game starting at tutorial or training, so those runs started at tutorial, and thus I decided not to retime them so that they would start at training. However, most new runs still start at tutorial so I'm just making this forum post to inform people that you can start at either tutorial or training, and obviously training is the faster choice.

So, we decided to revamp the leaderboards seeing as it hasn't been updated in a few years.

We removed the All Levels NG+ category as it hasn't had a run in over 4 years and is very similar to the regular All Levels category. It's been replaced with a new category called All Achievements.

The rules have been updated to disallow use of the console across all categories.

We also decided to add a level leaderboard for all the individual levels. The level number is followed by its password. There is an Easy and Expert category for each as well.

And lastly we did a complete overhaul of the theme, changing the background image, the speedrun.com logo, the icon, and the trophy icons.

Thanks for this, it's crazy how close our runs are. However I might have to come back to this game now that my position is being threatened haha!

Thanks for the information. Also, is there a particular version that is better? I want to run it on Wii as I don't have a PS3 and I tried to emulate the game but it was very laggy with many visual bugs.

The rules only state to finish the game as fast as possible, but do not state where time should start/end and give very little information about the run itself. I wish to speedrun this game soon but I cannot begin until I know where time should start/end and if anything is disallowed etc.

Dungeon Rider is just an early version of Azangara and there are more small differences between the games but it has little precedence in terms of speedrunning, as they are 2 seperate categories.

This is old information. Only the first point is still valid. Whether the game is in Russian or English doesn't matter except for the tutorial level. What does matter is the version of Azangara that you're playing. The latest version of Azangara is 1.35.

I have been trying to change the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th icons for the game Azangara but when I try to change the icons to the new icons and save, the icons always revert back to the previous versions. I have even tried deleting the old icons from speedrun.com and my PC, but even then, when I try to input the new icons, it still reverts back to the old ones. I'm unsure why this happens and would like some help, thanks.

Ah right, I was clicking on the view all section and couldn't understand why I couldn't find the run, thanks for that!

Just one question, sorry if it's been answered before. Is there a way for you to view rejected speedruns of a game that you moderate? I just rejected a month old run because I am almost certain that the gameplay was slightly sped-up but if it's some obscure glitch or something, I would like to accept the run again. Would the second party just have to re-upload the run?

I would like if Azangara is declassified as a web game because it is not. You must download the game online but it is an independent application that does not use the web to play and is stored on your PC.

List of the differences between the Russian and English version of Azangara (Азангара).

• The tutorial level is faster in the Russian version due to the controls being shown for less time.
• The loading screens and interval screens between levels can be cycled through significantly faster in the Russian version of the game.
• Enemies are in slightly different positions in both versions.
• The player seems to be a different size in both versions or if not, some areas have been altered in size (e.g. the staircase with lightnings in the Magenta Palace).

Please let me know if anything else is found.

List of the differences between Azangara and Dungeon Rider.

• Dungeon Rider lists the Tutorial and Training as palaces on the map while Azangara displays them as buttons.
• Dungeon Rider uses Rolling Skulls and Jumping Skulls instead of the Worms and Dragons respectively present in Azangara.
• The second level of the Green Palace is absent in Dungeon Rider.
• The Orange Palace is absent in Dungeon Rider.
• The Magenta Palace is missing some rooms in Dungeon Rider and so far is unbeatable.
• The player cannot fit through certain spots in Dungeon Rider and must wait for the ducking animation in order to do so.
• Enemies spawn in slightly different positions in both games.
• Dungeon Rider has a glitch wherein if you remap the arrow keys to different keys using the settings, pressing an arrow key while pressing the corresponding assigned key will double your speed in that direction. This is absent in Azangara.
• Some enemies behave slightly differently in both games. Some are faster for example.

Azangara is a platforming game released back in 2007 and it features the player navigating through 6 different castles, all of which are defined by a certain colour such as blue or magenta. These castles vary in difficulty and size and are full of monsters, treasures and tools to help you on your journey. The aim of each level is to reach the end which is usually blocked by multiple doors which require the correct key to open. The game is quite short and with a little practice, can be done in around 15 minutes.
