Delete everything from C:\ and try this method but grab the Exe from the description. i notice you have a folder for bio2patch1.1.0 that patch causes more problems with incompatibility Follow this tutorial > grab the exe "Directx Fixed EXE" from description and replace it. if it doesn't work get back to me and ill try sort something out for you.

so pretty much it's just 4 plug route with the only difference being picking up the plug later?

It's 1-2 seconds slower to do the puzzle later + take the plug, personally i don't see a time save with early puzzle late plug pickup

the best thing to do would be to add PSN to the platform Variable i guess, i assume all current PS3 runs are PSN anyway

does it really need a category though? i mean it's already an even playing field providing runners learn to doorskip which isn't hard to learn. I see it as a pointless meme category and an easy way to avoid the current optimization.

Might aswell add a category for F8 Timer manipulation and a category for using an external program to jump from kendo to the final corridor of the game while we're at it. Both of these things are considered a big NO in terms of speedrunning, just like a run with no audio.

This whole thing is nothing more than a modification to the game. Playing the game with no sound, and in doing so you save 4 minutes just renders all of the hard work and dedication people have put into this game for years pointless. I understand new "strats" are always found in games and i'm completely fine with adapting and learning new strats, but this isn't a strat imo this is a modification.

Not to mention my biohazard 2 folder is nowhere to be in found in regedit. So even if i was like a hyped up child at Christmas over this i couldn't even turn my sound off.

so wait are you trying to instantly skip doors and in result the screen is black for 4 seconds? if so that isn't a bug. For each door you need to wait (or count) 2 seconds before you skip in order for the black screen to not appear. (some doors slightly longer wait time)

Bad door skip = time loss

going into the registry and turning off sound and getting an instant skip sounds interesting though could you make a quick video without sound on ?

i was just checking all of the links on the Resident Evil 2 boards just to make sure they were all still working. I noticed alot of the old twitch highlights no longer work "failed to load video" so i checked Resident Evil 1 & 3 and they also have this problem and i'm sure this is the same for every game.

BUT if you go to the runners twitch channel the highlight is still available and it works so it's just a case of resubmitting the runs on their behalf.

the easiest way to do this would be to make an IGT script and have it pause the timer on loads and in the menus. i could probably knock out an IGT script that would remove loads. i give it ago tomorrow.

i had nothing but trouble with bio2 on win10. it was fine for like a week then all of a sudden it was slow-mo HELL and nothing i did would fix it. so i switched back to win7 and it was fine once again. i would honestly recommend just reinstalling the game and completely ditch 1.1. Autosplitters/ECG'S aren't supported on 1.1 and they never will be because that would mean making them twice since the values in game change across 1.0 and 1.1

@TheGameMage Go ahead and use it. People go to extreme lengths to modify a 3DS to use a gamecube controller on it so i don't see any harm in using CronusMAX on a PS3

Hi, so i think it would be a good idea to choose one emulator to go with for PlayStation runs.

What are most people currently using to emulate play station? when setting up to do some mess about runs on this category i was told to use psxFIN as it was the best and to me this emulator seems the most stable and simple to set up.

Please comment which emulator you use below and let's see if we can all come to agreement shall we?

This glitch has been known of for quite some time but was kinda pushed aside. Recently i have been experimenting with it and i've soon realized how much of a disaster this could be if someone used it to get a good time and cheat there way up the leaderboards undetected.

so how is it possible to manipulate game time? Simple, you press F8. This forces the game into full screen but it's not until you press F8 again to go back to windowed mode that you realize wtf just happened(if you have an SRT open you will notice the time has gone down) Time will literally vanish.

Here is one example on Leon A Time Stamps 0-40 seconds. 2:18-2:25 At the start of that video i was rolling back the timer by just a few seconds but that could be the difference between a WR and if edited correctly for example on a instant skip door when the screen is black anyway it would go unnoticed.

i originally planned to record a run and use the glitch to get a believable Sub 50 run(without SRT on screen) for the purpose of this thread but i died to final birkin so i scrapped that and ended up continuing the run from the first example.

Here is the result of a timer manipulated run Baring in mind if this run was almost perfectly executed and IGT was not on screen i could be the WR holder of Leon A

how do we prevent this ? i think it should be made mandatory to show the IGT on screen at all times either by Live Split(tied to IGT) or an SRT program made by Dchaps, Both of these are available here http://www.speedrun.com/re2/resources

just added Claire B and Leon B auto splitters to the resource section that myself and Darazanjoll made.

They can only be used with 1.0 PC version

Currently the "End" split will split 5 seconds earlier than when the IGT stops but hopefully this will be fixed soon, it's not a big issue really.
