Hi! I logged into my account on here for the first time in quite a long time and found out I suddenly had a World Record in this game. Which... I found strange because I've barely played this game.
At first I thought maybe my account had been compromised or something at some point since I haven't logged in for so long, but after looking into it I can see there is indeed a player named Munch in the record video.
But I'd like to clear things up and say that whoever is actually the "Munch" in the record video is not me! Sorry for any confusion, I'd just rather not take any credit for something I didn't actually do.
I still use a free scrolling mouse wheel myself to do it instead of the macro but it should work the same. Whatever you have your macro bound to, use that instead of the regular jump key to start the climb animation and keep holding it when you cancel the animation by equipping something. The timing can be different depending on what kind of ledge and animation you get, but most of the time it should work. Just keep practicing and you should get it eventually.
Hi! Sorry this board hasn't been very active lately. I'm just trying to get back into the game myself. The bottle strat that's currently the fastest (and actually the easiest and most consistent setup too!) is to line yourself up so that you run directly straight towards the bottle, pick it up from as far away as you can (not hard to figure out the correct distance for this) stop, don't move, don't turn, look straight up, throw it, then start the gear grabbing cutscene. You'll still miss every now and then but this is definitely the best setup for the bottle throw and is not very hard at all. Hope this answers your question!
It's not happening now so there's no need for a glitchless category. If by some chance in the future one or more crazy gamebreaking glitches are found that are actually useful in a speedrun, then maybe we could consider having a separate category that excludes them. But right now? There's no point. Excluding the very few small glitches and tricks that currently exist from the run doesn't change enough and just isn't interesting enough to warrant its own category.
You'd have a better argument for glitchless if you were playing as Emily since she has clips and wall climbs with f-canceling. But again there's no reason to have that because Corvo is close enough to glitchless unless you want to play Emily with far reach and bhopping only (if you don't also consider bhopping a glitch lol)
