It was in the past, when we discovered the pause menu stuff, I was the one that changed it, and forgot to respecify it. Figured the note was good enough. Completely on me I apologize.
To add, the biggest reason we don't allow long ass videos for 10 second runs (not that this is that), is because people in the past HAVE submitted 7 hour long highlights for a 9 second E1M1 run. Shit like that is unnecessary so we require that you cut your video down properly, and show difficulty before every run (excluding any%) so we don't have to waste our time searching.
I see the problem now.
Note: This still means if a run on UV is loaded via a quicksave, it will still be rejected.
This SHOULD say;
Note: This still means if a run on UV is loaded via a quicksave, or started from a death in any other way than what's stated above, it will still be rejected.
@Thomastd You might wanna change that. That's on me. Sorry.
However, this changes nothing. Runs on UV are still not allowed to start from a death, unless it utilizes the pause menu load system, to ensure difficulty is correct. Sorry for the inconvenience. I am the one to blame, not the current mods.
"If a run on UV is loaded via a quicksave, it will still be rejected" This is referring to starting a run on UV from a death, using quicksaves.
Also in the IL section of the rules has this
Which means you are not allowed to restart from a death on any other difficulty besides any%.
The only time you are allowed to start your run from a death on UV/UV+ is from the pause menu's save/load system.
It is indeed stated very clearly that you cannot start from a death on UV, you are just misunderstanding. And to add, it's absolutely not the mods jobs to sift through 11 min of failed attempts just to find where you're difficulty was shown. Start from the main menu, or use the pause menu in game system like everyone else. It's not hard at all.
I'm also confused as to how sorting through 11 min of failed attempts is ensuring fair play... That doesn't even make sense lmao
It may not always be active but it is ran. There have been many uv+max runs done.
No they're not? UV+ is a legit difficulty selection in game. Why would we not have a category for it when all others do?
Lmao NM pacifist isn't THAAAAT much of a meme category. It's quite difficult lol but yes, the leaderboard is already cluttered with crap as it is. Best not to make it worse.
We never added it because there was no demand for it, and as far as I can tell there still isn't. We considered it a meme category and scrapped the idea.

DSDA is for source port Doom. Steam version, you're literally here. But, on the category extension leaderboard. There are tabs below the game's name that show you main leaderboards, levels, news, etc.
Also, if you are launching the game from within Steam, you'll get a pop-up asking which version of the game you want to play. For these leaderboards you are at, we run the Unity version. Which is the very first option. Everything else on that list there is no leaderboard for, as they are just dosbox ports that nobody cares about.
No. As I said above, the online feature is what kept us from bothering with a co-op board. There aren't enough runners for co-op to justify making a board. Plus, the cat ext. board for this game is reserved for the add-ons within the game (excluding Plutonia/TNT) and for the community-made wad we have.
The reason it was never added was because of the online feature of it being complete trash. Otherwise we would probably have another board separately for it.
If ever Unity's online improves, I'm up for it.
Anything Outside of the DLC you are running.
This means you are not allowed to use powers from say the Bring the Crunch DLC.
Powers found within the DLC you are running are fine.
Yes, you can have a higher might level, as long as it doesn't utilize anything outside of the base game/Casa Bonita DLC.
@Polite_Twitter_User "I think it's ostensibly shitty to delete a bunch of runs from history because they don't follow the rules of another site."
What are you talking about? It has nothing to do with the rules on either site. It has to do with one existing before the other, the utilization of demos, and organization. This has been said multiple times.
"They just want to do less work even though they WILLINGLY signed up for it and that's why runs here took 30 years to verify."
Are you just oblivious to the fact that a new mod was added, and has been active this whole time? Nobody is wanting to do less work. If that were the case why would I even bother with the board? Took me quite a bit of time to do everything, so if I wanted to do less work I would not have bothered with this at all.
"And to justify it they'll redirect to a prehistoric website who I'm pretty sure everyone who submitted runs here doesn't wanna use, because it's "confusing" and whatnot to have 2 sites with rankings."
This is where the care dwindles. It's not our fault YOU don't want to use the site. Yeah, it's old but it works just fine and has been around since before SRC existed. In the beginning runs should have been integrated over, but weren't. Oh well big whoop, nothing we can do about that now unfortunately, but to sit here and cry "i DoNt WaNNa!" isn't helping anything. It just tells me you have little to no understanding of why things are happening the way they are.
"I honestly don't get and probably never will what's confusing about having 2 that both house rankings."
I've explained it multiple times. Go back and read.
"If anything it's more confusing this way because for other games like Doom the sr.com houses everything."
This line alone tells me you understand absolutely none of this, and are just here to speak against us anytime someone has something to say that slightly lines up with your false idea of our commitment to this volunteer job. Doom has had a leaderboard LONG BEFORE this site existed, so it doesn't need to adhere to the same rules as every other game. Even if it was on here first, it still doesn't and I'll never understand why people seem to think every game has to follow the same rules as each other.
It's time to lock this thread. The work has been done. Please refer to DSDA to submit your IL's. E1-E3/E1-E4 will be hosted here.
Chances are it's a false positive, but better to ask in the Discord just in case, as I'm unsure. Though if you would rather not deal with it, the Unity port is another valid option and is easier to set up than this version, since it's just launch and go.
