This would be a fun idea for a challenge (and video!) but a speedrun leaderboard kind of relies on everyone "playing the same game", I.E. you're not in an online match where random people's behaviour are a factor. Human(s, if co-op) on one side, only computer code on the other, so to speak.

COULD belong on a "category extensions" kind of board though, when the whole point is memes anyway

From the rules:

Emulation Restrictions/Requirements:

• Only Dolphin emulator is allowed.
• Only beta versions and Lua Dolphin are allowed.
• You must have FPS shown either in windowed mode or on the game itself in fullscreen mode. If you choose to play in fullscreen mode, you must show the Dolphin version at some point in the video. This can be shown after the run for convenience.
• The "speed up disc transfer rate" option must either be unchecked (blank) or be set to undetermined (-) and must be shown at some point in the video. All runs except individual level runs must show this option. This can be shown after the run for convenience.
• The game must be running at a smooth 60 fps. Occasional frame drop/lag spikes are acceptable however, we may reject runs that consistently run at a lower framerate or drop frames frequently.
• Slowing down the game in any form is banned.
• Speeding up loads in any form is banned.
• Save states are banned, however they may be used outside of runs, i.e. resetting runs.
• You may use any form of controller.

Of course try to stay safe of copyright stuff with whatever music you have in there though!

D-button(s) = the D-pad on the Wiimote (that controls the camera)

You need to make sure your timer is based on "game time" rather than "real time" (or have one of each!). Go into "edit layout", double click on the timer (or add a new one with the big plus sign), change "timing method" to game time

And of course go into "edit splits" and activate the autosplitter if you haven't already

Stuff done in a multiplayer match doesn't really fit on a speedrunning leaderboard (where the idea is everyone is up against the same consistent "game"), but doing this in a solo lobby, possibly

They've hidden the support page in a weird place (and also phrased it weirdly) now, I think they intend it to be essentially the same as this old priority list:

1. Wait 3 weeks
2. Contact the mods through their linked social media (slash direct messages, which wasn't a thing back then).
3. Request to be made a mod through the support page - here: https://www.speedrun.com/knowledgebase/supporthub/request-moderation (see how at the top it has been put under the category "Game & Series Request", that's what I think is weird)

In this case since there are other runners (not me, I've just followed the game to remember it exists after seeing a run...) it can be worth seeing if one of them responds to this, if it feels weird to come in and sort of "coup a mod spot". But of course the worst thing that could happen if you get made mod and verify your own run, is if someone has a problem with that they can just double check that it looks fine (and you can even in turn make them a mod for that matter, so it's their name on the "verified by"). This doesn't automatically mean replacing the old mod either, just that you're also added.

Might as well send a DM and give it a couple days just in case, since I think that sends another email notification. But yeah, there's otherwise no linked place to message and I think you can go straight to the support page.

Yeah I think the only thing supermod can do that others can't is add/remove mods (including making other people supermods)

I looked at their profiles and none have logged in within the last 2 months. This doesn't mean no one would respond to an email notification that a new run has been submitted though

I just follow a bunch of games I might be interested in running, so I couldn't tell you specifics about rules besides what's written, which in this case is nothing. There is one emulator time on the board though, so at the very least one kind of emulator is allowed, and I'd say it's pretty much on you to plead the case that your emulator (and settings) are at least as accurate as the one used in that existing run

Yeah I think that's super reasonable, cause if you're going fast enough for WR you're guaranteed to be getting enough stars to unlock the next sections and then some anyway. And vehicles, you're kind of wasting time by unlocking all of them anyway, but it makes sense to at least steer clear of the boss vehicles

And indeed do you need to? Cause unlocking cars would be an obvious advantage but it at least seems like you can't "overstock on stars" since it's just about doing every level in order?

Do you have an element called "game time" in your layout? Cause that's the only kind of timer an autosplitter affects. You can have both kinds of timer for comparison though, just make sure the actual splits are going by game time so they're controlled by the splitter

But I'm also unsure if Shovel Knight's autosplitter is actually added "officially" to livesplit like that or if you have to download and "install" it yourself. I see it's missing from the Resources tab, worth asking in the discord if this doesn't make it start working

Oh yeah also running livesplit as admin sometimes solves misc. issues, not sure if that would help here
