I can easily find category rules using the API, but I am unable to locate game rules. Anyone have some guidance?
Just not a fan of IL leaderboards personally. As you've described, there are too many iterations to make it tidy (which exit, which power-ups you start with, etc).

Online at https://twitch.tv/speedgaming on July 12-14, the third annual celebration of the often underloved and overlooked speedruns of handheld consoles. Mods include myself, atroz, and BelthicGaming.
I added a command to find all sub-categories for a category (since it's different for some categories in a game, like alttp), and added a spot on the site where I can put the most recent updates I make.
Saw the issue, and it was me copying an old query by accident (already fixed it). Should be good now. Thanks!
I've made a Discord bot that allows you to get information from speedrun.com, such as WRs and PBs.
Information is available here: https://slashinfty.github.io/srcom-bot/
If you encounter any issues, check the help/site, then report on the GitHub rather than here if that doesn't help.

My version and Slush Puppy's versions should be identical. Glad to see they are in practice by other users.
This is really neat. I went ahead and wrote a version that is JavaScript-based and works online, so you don't have to download anything and works on any operating system. My source code is linked on the site, too.
Yes. If you stand on/near the pipe, jump and land on the pipe tile holding no direction on the d-pad. You should be able to enter it nearly every time. The important part is to not hold any direction while landing. As soon as you break a block above the pipe, you'll be unable to enter.
There is now a Discord for Golf (NES), with channels for both speedruns and randomizer (which will hopefully pick up more in the near future).
For practice:
Lake - JSFPW Mountain - QGHXB Descent - TZDML City - RCVNJ Palace - PGDSH
All sub-2 hour runs have been retimed according to the rules (file select and last hit on DK). I think this was necessary, mostly due to the difficulty in hitting the final split after the final hit on DK, leading to small discrepancies (up to a second in some cases). I'll be doing this from now on for every sub-2 hour run.
When I have some time before New Year's (hopefully), I'm going to be more accurate and carefully retime each run on the leaderboard, for consistency. I'll be sure to do this from now on (I've been a bit lazy, and that's not acceptable).
Known for years, yet not being done in runs, which is odd.
