I don't think Xiu can stream on twitch..like almost every other chinese player. While he admitted that his NG3 run was to be removed, for this one he played with a gamepad and showed the "no movie" option. I agree on being suspicious, considering what we discovered lately, but xiu is cooperating. Also..like i said, the vod shows "no movie" and input display.
probably i forgot to move it because there were so many runs. So it's just a mistake and i will re-add it. If any one notices that some runs are missing pls let me know.
And btw..."i want it back"...i don't take orders...ok? tnx
well, my ducktales run (2nd place) was on emu, and trust me, it was the result of weeks of grinding and practice, and there was a WR battle with endy that people enjoy. I wouldn't really like to put that on "the other board". Also, new runners will always be discouraged, considering most of us started like that. Not just me.
Blubbler got the SMB wr on emu, and the community was ok, they put some rules and he respected them. I would find another solution for other games, leaving NG3 as it is for now.
Like i said, i would never vote for separating console and emus, i would just remove runs with illegal inputs and illegal emulators. I started running on emu and i always used an NES controller, to be as legit as possible. I didn't have a console because i couldn't find a good setup and it was too expensive. This separation will discourage every potential new runner because they could only compete with themselves and not with console runners.
Tbh if this separation was a general rule, i would have not even started speedrunning two years ago.
Old runs are ok of course, rules apply for the new submissions. Like i said, we aren't accusing anyone, but too many leaderboards had emulator movie issues. Last one was Yoshi's island yesterday and Ninja Gaiden III two days ago.
Hey everyone, after talking a lot and we have decided to change the ruleset for this game (be sure to read them before submitting a run or it will be rejected). This is the only thing we can do to prevent people from cheating (again, no one is accused, we're just doing this after finding out that some emulator runs were, in fact, pre-recorded movies).
I will proceed on merging the leaderboards again as soon as possible.
Keyboard is an advantage yes, but i don't think that boss 1 kill is related. That's a technique called ninja fap, and is doable with gamepad as well, i'm pretty sure crakattak and riche can replicate it. Btw i wouldn't force people to run on console, people sometimes use emu because they can't afford a real console setup, and we don't wanna discourage potential new runners. My vote is for that run to stay and to not change the rules at the moment.
I agree with this..if koh keeps finding new stuff like he mentioned it will become way more complicated to justify which run belongs to which category. I would have waited a little more to move the game to a new category. But it's not up to me.
That ruleset in 11 Exit states this: *More specifically, no letting the instruction pointer hit anywhere but ROM, open bus, and the intended RAM area ($7F8000-$7F8182), and no modifying the intended RAM area."
...and that would apply to any faster zitz trick in the "regular" run...assuming that your 3 minutes one is put in a new any% category. because it would meet those "kill the dark queen" requirements dxtr mentioned.
Of course just sharing my opinion, it's up to the community that actually runs the game.
"Would you put that run in some new shitty category, because you can't spawn stick with Rash and everyone else play as Rash?" i guess not..that would be part of the same category as Rash's. imo of course
Btw Koh congrats for doing this RTA..
Ok but there is a big IF...i mean...isn't the turbo tunnel "ordinary" glitch a wrong warp itself?
