Technically, yes you can use Any Arms for Default Arms.

Just wondering what's going on in this game? I've got a run that's been pending for about 2 weeks now.

I know this game isn't super popular, but I still like having runs accepted/denied relatively quick.

Side note: If someone would want, I wouldn't mind helping with the handful of runs coming through.

I know this was super delayed, but Chapter 2 is now up on the boards.

Also, I would be so down for a challenge mode speedrun or even multi chapter runs now that we have more. If you have suggestions put them here and we can see what gets attention.

While a Discord server would be a good idea, I feel like we need to see more people active first. Only having four runners of the game isn't the best means to jump start a Discord server. Unless we want a very inactive server to start. ;)

Honestly, the best thing I can say is try one and post the video here. Then, we can leave it up to everyone. Personally, I don't think this would be a thing, but this would be a community decision not my own. ;)

I'm not a mod for SMOCE. However, I think I might be interested in something like this. It seems like it's something that might make for a fun Any% category.

Granted I'm always up for some challenge-esque runs.

What I meant by cheating, was say someone has max moons and max coins fixing to do an Any% NG+ run. They could in theory splice the best times they got for each kingdom across multiple attempts because there wouldn't be a good failsafe to catch them on it. Since there's 880 total moons in the game, I felt that maybe treating this as a post Any% would be the better option since you can track newly aquired moons.

After thinking more about this, you could state in the rules for it something like, the coin count must be below XXXX coins for verification purposes. However, that might be a slight inconvenience before starting a run. I say slight, because you could just kill Mario repeatedly to lower the count if needed.

As far as running it in order of the kingdoms, I think I can understand why you want that to be in order like the main game since this would be Any% NG+. Perhaps if people like this we could look at splitting into No Paintings and Paintings? (Mainly because I like the thought that new routes could be comprised for this that might not follow even Dark/Darker Side routing.)

@Crafty12345 The only way I think starting with Cap should happen is if you make the player go to the top of the hat and complete a moon up there. However, I kinda feel like this is redundant since this is an Any% NG+ and NG+ runs don't always follow the strict rules of the main category.

So essentially, it would be like this:

• Use a file that is complete through at least the Any% route
• Start time when selecting Cascade
• Collect 5 moons from Cascade, 16 from Sand, 8 from Lake, 16 from Wooded, 10 from Lost, 20 from Metro, 10 from Snow, 10 from Seaside, 18 from Luncheon, 3 from Ruined, and 8 from Bowser's
• Go to Moon Kingdom, enter Bowser's Painting to complete the game
• Time ends on capturing the pylon at the end of the escape sequence

Am I right on this? If so, I've got two questions. If moons can be recollected, how can you verify that someone isn't cheating? I feel like maybe the moons need to be new moons. Especially, since the moon rock moons exist for this kind of run.

The other question, is the order of kingdoms strict? If you make it so they have to go to the Odyssey after each kingdom that could make it linear, however, it might be more enjoyable to leave it open to those that want to use the paintings to warp to each kingdom since every kingdom except Ruined can be accessed through the paintings.

Once those two are worked out, I wouldn't mind doing a run to see how I feel about it. It sounds fun to me. Could be a fun 248 moon category (since you would already have 124 from Any%).

Does the starter category only allow certain ships/weapons too? If so, does the Digital Edition fit closer to Deluxe or Starter?

While I know everyone isn't focused on Full-game runs at the moment. I would like to know if people would like to see either a Full-game category of All Treasures or All Fairies to be added alongside the Any% and 100%.

This would only be for full-game runs at the moment unless everyone wants this in ILs also.

Honestly, I'm in the same boat with this game. I would love to run it but 5+ hours is too much for me. If this category was added, I definitely would start running the game.

Since the v3.2 update changes things for Normal and Hard runs, these have been given a soft reset. What this means is that I've cleared those categories.

However, the runs are not gone. I also added a Misc category to the game. This is where the old runs will live now. If you want to go through the hassle of playing unpatched to better those runs you are more than welcome to. However, if you do please include the title screen or the run will be processed as current patch.

Below is the rules for the Speedrun Tournament scheduled for November.

1. The races are using 1P Grand Prix Easy. Each player can choose whether they want to do Default or Any. This is because the top times on the leaderboard are around the same spot (approx 10-11 minutes) and we all know that those are without Skillshot and with good AI manipulation.
2. It will still be based on a per week basis. This means that you will have a full week to schedule and complete the race. I feel like this shouldn't be too big of an issue, but if problems occur we'll work something out.
3. Resets will be allowed if both players agree to it. If only one player wants a reset and the other wants to continue, both players must continue.

I support ILs being here too. As for the other stuff, I have to agree with the points made in the OP. Tons of stuff that can be added once the game takes off, but too much to start with.

Ok. Just changed it so that we can show submitted runs from each person for each character. The good thing is that it looks like it only gives a ranking to the player's best time.

As for the thought on the OP, I'm going to leave this post up until later today or possibly tomorrow then I'll probably go ahead and add it since there's more than just me interested in it.

Well, what I was more thinking was a leaderboard for All Characters GP. However, I could modify the current leaderboards so that we can submit runs for each character. The only thing would be each player might have more than one time recorded on the leaderboards.

Just tossing a thought out there to see what the community thinks, but what if we added a category for completing all characters in one (or each) of the difficulty levels.

For instance, Completing GP at 4 with each character. If something like this would be considered to be added, I think we would start with it as a sub-category for Any ARMS rather than it's own thing.

I know it's still a new game, but I was curious if the mods were planning on adding NG+ to the categories?
