The main point to speedrunning is to try and improve your times, so of course you can submit new runs with better times
At the moment I'm the only one really verifying runs, and I tend to verify 5 - 10 at a time when I feel like verifying
If we ever do decide to add a full game category, it would mainly be for rebirth 1 / rebirth 2.
I am figuring out solutions to try and make the boards as fair as possible, and one of those solutions is to use the in game timer for the top times of a category.
I first did this for Classic Hoverboard and deleted the mod notes so I could visibly see what ones I had already changed, which was a mistake as afterwards I decided it would be best to leave the mod notes in while doing Pyramid Hoverboard.
Only downside to using in game timer for top times is that if you end up with a slower time than your personal best, it will be forced to a retime which will ultimately be 2+ frames slower or worse if you have a bad set up.
Another solution I have thought of is to just use the last frame that the in game timer is shown, which will be great for some people and unfair for others as some people have their timer remaining for 1-2 frames sticking to the same time.
If the demand is there for the category to be added, I'll add it
Retiming is quite literally the only solution for most of the categories listed here.
- Classic - time doesn't appear if slower, must be retimed
- Jungle - time doesn't appear if slower, must be retimed
- Pyramid - time doesn't appear if slower, must be retimed
- Ice - time doesn't appear if slower, must be retimed
If you ever set a hoverboard run in those categories, you are literally out of luck and wouldn't be able to run them ever again.
We may change this for the categories that do show you the in game time at the end no matter what.
I am currently unable to add new games to the series, which is why the submission form is disabled.
If RedstoneGyerek doesn't set up the board, it will be automatically deleted in roughly a week.
If a couple of people want to run it then I will add it under the events tab.
Runs outside of the top 10 can be submitted with a screenshot. If it's a smaller category with ~8 runs, then we are a bit more lenient towards screenshots.
Along with this, the entire run will need to be captured. So no editing out parts of the run to make the video shorter, otherwise it will be rejected.
Added, you will be able to find it under the full-game leaderboard.
Depending on the community feedback from this thread, will influence the final decision.
Would you like the ability to submit a screenshot of the run as long as it is outside of a certain placement, for example, with 11th place and onwards only needing a screenshot of their run time, while those from 1-10 require video evidence. This will help those that are unable to record their runs still submit a decent placement.
Leave your thoughts on this decision below and if you think this is a good/bad idea.
