I like the idea. In some cases one would have to come up with creative strategies.

However, in some cases it might get very obnoxious. For example, the Birth of Rome mission, which has a gigantic map with many enemies. And then, after killing every enemy one by one (probably many missions will involve building catapults in the enemy base), you have to find this randomly hidden villager. I have done campaign runs where I manage to pull of a difficult trick to safe 30 seconds, only to lose 2 minutes in the next mission looking for some stupid villager in some trees.

In other missions, say 'island hopping' or 'the great hunt', you can accidently trigger victory too early. Also, conquest isn't always possible, say 'canyon of death' , 'caravan' or 'the assasins' (not sure about that last one though).

So I think full campaign runs won't be interesting, but it would be a nice new category for individual missions. Just like the easiest category.

Yes that's true. I created the video's first as some kind of speedrun compilation. Only then I selected some that I liked to claim the WR. Perhaps I will claim some more too in the near future. Perhaps I will try to improve some. Not sure yet. And yes, I tend to claim those that make me proud. Ctesiphon and Great Hunt in particular.

Hey everyone, I think I found a new glitch and I want to share it: If you select a building, and click 'restart' whilst the building is in build-mode-state (before it is placed), a mission will restart with everyone in stone age. I have a video here:

Has anyone seen this before? Or do I have some weird version or settings? I tested it on 1.0c and 1.0a and it worked on both. It's extremely simple to execute, so if this is real, I'm quite surprised nobody ever stumbled upon it.

At first glance it seemed pretty game-breaking to me, but now I think the uses of this glitch are quite limited. Sending yourself to stone age usually makes things slower. I think there are about ~5 missions where it actually is helpful, but I have to do some more research.

Ok thanks for the reply! I'm familiar with the save glitch. It just felt like the computer AI behaves slightly different since I installed 1.0a. Like in Pompey yellow villagers creating a different city layout, and in 'Opening Moves' less aggressive villagers. But perhaps these things were just a fluke and it won't happen again. (Or perhaps 1.0c ??)

I guess I'll just start with that demo campaign on 1.0a and then stick with version 1.0.

And yes, I had never seen those campaigns. First time I saw them was during your WR run.

I want to do a full game speedrun, but before I'm going to do that I have some small questions regarding the rules:

Can I switch between RoR1.0 and RoR1.0a whenever I want? There seem to be some small differences between both versions and for some missions I might prefer 1.0a. I probably end up doing some missions not in the proper order, but of course I will eventually complete all missions.

Also, changing game speed and using saving/loading is fine right?!
