You'll have to give me more info on this as I'm not very familiar with Auto-clickers.
-
Is this essentially 'turbo' for mouse clicks? Are there other advantages?
-
What is the goal here? Is this accessibility-related? Or for ease of faster times?
My initial feeling is any runs compared against another should have the same or very similar variables affecting the end result so if an auto-clicker provides a clear advantage, it should be a separate category. I think in the case of TCII, it certainly does (less so with TC or TC3).
That should be okay, provided the file has not been edited or enhanced in any way. Good luck on the runs!

I have heard of the DX version of TCII Arcade but have never seen one! Pretty incredible. Nice run, I'm jealous.
I wonder if this was a WR back then? Too bad the vid doesn't have the saved list of scores just to see what times were present.
Hello santopotter,
There's been a lot of success with that category on TCII so I think it makes sense to have it for TC3 as well. Give us some time to make the categories. Feel free to submit a run under the wrong category if one doesn't exist. GL on the runs!
MR
Currently, there are no rules against continues! Generally, you suffer a time loss on getting hit, with exceptions to a couple of points (like the first sequence of the boss in 2-3). Continuing does clear the current area for you but hard to imagine saving time in this regard unless the hits are taken at points where the game moves on during the damage animation.
I'll second Don here: there was no doubt that your run was not legitimate. It was just a matter of finding the proper category out of fairness for you and others!
Thank you for your work on emulating these great games!
Sorry for the delay here, I have applied the fix and everything is now under a variable category in the Arcade seciton.
Since no other mods have dropped in, I am inclined to say it's a separate category. I'm gunna double check the timing before making the move but should be completed in the next day or two!
Do you have a photo with the final time?
so I actually dropped this time in as Smraedis mentions it on his youtube video for the WR.
However, it looks like the link has gone bad but the time used to be posted there. It was a verified time at one point, but I cannot find a record of it online at this time.
Hey DonAtreides,
Thanks for the very helpful info. I'll take a closer look this week and return with an update!
MR
Nice run, Planetaryashes. I placed this under Emulation w/ Mouse instead of Arcade. I know it's under the PS2 section but I feel that is the best place for this run where you are competing with other equatable runs.
having flashbacks to tablecloth 56. Nothing like creating a mysterious new profile to call someone out.
Hey TheXploder,
It may take me some time to set up but this is certainly possible. We don't want to discourage those who are interested in the TCII community!
Are you emulating the arcade version or the PS2 version? This would decide where I nestle the category. I can do some other updates at the same time!
LMK and I'll keep you updated. Join the discord channel for faster communication and updates!

Hey Marc-Andre_Morin, the mods would need to make that and it takes a lot of time but if you request again or join the discord, someone could probably set it up.
Vector_Delta, 1. the game doesn't really change much as far as the number of enemies, health, and RNG due to difficulty so in order to keep things to one leaderboard, u should only run on very hard.
- While you should use Arcade defaults, getting hit and continues do not affect whether or not it's a speedrun. Others may comment a run is, 'less impressive' if you take damage but a record is a record. Plenty of speedruns include taking intentional damage if it means a faster time or even the possibility of a faster time so don't listen to those ppl.
Agreed. I also miss the runs prior to the discovery of the invincibility glitch, especially using the Biochambers to move around.
Hey Everyone,
I would have liked to post a run before asking this but alas. I think it'd be cool to have a CryBaby% category. We do already have 1 run! Not sure how M1 would feel about it but similar to the All Modules run, you get to see much more of the game/ship, as well as not being as optimized as the Any%.
At any rate, I enjoyed the CryBaby speedrun and thought it'd be cool to make it a thing, in spite of the weird rules n' stuff.
MR
Finally set it all up under Story Mode - Arcade. LMK what you think!
