It seems Like pal does allow for overworld clipping and the like. Never touched it myself but any idea how its done?
I don't personally see a problem with that. Fun find I'll try to remember this if I ever get back into it
Ahhh yeah that did happen. Forgot about that lol.
Only seemed to be one day from what i could see. But grats on submitting a run
Nice work :) Only thing I heard someone say was that there were limited continues (prob due to using U rom). Obviously there are more things to rando etc. But having unlimited continues in a randomizer (or at least a lot) is prob good for exploration haha. Keep up the good work.
Since the arcade version is literally a different game I'm going to make it it's own board. I'll try and make it tonight or something.
I thought i made an arcade rygar... But obviously i didn't lol.
So the snk40th anniversary just came out and it includes the Athena arcade and console versions. Just for future reference if people use this to run the game. I "assume" the base game is unchanged, so just add in switch as a runable version for console? And then since arcade is different either its own category or just throw it into the any% anyway. I should submit a run before the end of the week so you can compare.
you need to be walking into the wall, it's covered a bit more in the actual guide second. You walk into the wall, whip the correct way, and then zip. This post is just the initial post showing the basic idea. But for posterity
To do the skip you walk into the wall, use noose (while still walking into the wall), this gets you stuck into the wall. You know you are stuck if you can't move from side to side (not away from wall completely). After that you use your whip in order to zip. Noose-Whip Zip thanks to MSPWakas
You were willing to keep going and knew basically how to do most of the basic strats. But really though its a shitty community that doesn't welcome a new runner lol the more the merrier.
Deathless as the base category was meant for a run off this game without deaths while playing through the game normally. However a new run has been done following basically the any% route just changed up to not cause deaths (an impressive feat to be sure). Due to the fundamental difference in strats, i don't believe it should be placed in the deathless category. However does this deserve to be placed in the any% or a new like "glitched deathless" category.
Fceux or the Bizhawk thingy is usually your best bet. Also jp version is easier for a 12 hour challenge because of easier crab skip, unlimited continues, and easier area 7 skip. But obviously you can still do US version. Jp version has a different name though just to warn you, choi... something i think. Oh and i made a forum bost sith discord link. Yell at me if it fails. Guide in guide section.
It'll be in the guide section eventually
That is before the 5th boss, but i need to make a new vid for a faster set up for that first skip
However, I am a bit tired so it may be possible to reach that area quicker for the 5th boss skip. That was the simplest method I found. (Also my save state isn't good for past the 4th boss takes too much effort :P).
Oh here is the two skips i found with it. is the 5th boss skip. is the final area skip lol.
Yeah sorry about that, I didn't realize none of the categories actually had "rules" in there lol.
However as a kid, I def used turbo lol, in blaster master too. Of course in some rpgs, and other outlier games turbo is allowed. This one like most nes games is def not one of them.
Turbo in general is banned for almost any system that doesn't have turbo functionality in its base controller (so basically all of them). And other than the beginning of the game there really isn't much mashing (well and first boss in nkg). During a farming session turbo is a good way to screw up a key farm by killing a slime at the wrong time.
