United StatesOur line of thinking behind it was having a picture of your stats before the race, and the three-lap times after. Since there's no replays in ghost race, it was more of an honor system. The only other real way to do it would to require video, which if you don't own a capture card would mean having a bunch of minute-long videos on a phone or webcam.
It's just one of the downsides of the 3DS being so hard to record, sadly.
Regions are split by the amount of time they save on text. JPN and KOR are generally similar in that regard, as are USA and EUR. Many text-heavy games do something similar, like how many Pokemon games have ENG and JPN subcategories. People who owned just a US 3DS were discouraged from running other StreetPass games before the language split, since they'd lose time out of the gate.

ALL COURSES TOURNAMENT RULES:
The use of a Booster or Rare Booster is not allowed. You can discard your Booster by quitting out of a Race with Rivals. Runs are done in the Ghost Race mode. Tracks are played in order, starting with Simple Circuit and ending with Zero-G Crash Course. Races will be tracked with real time, with ties being determined by in-game time. - All rounds will be best of 3, with the exception of winner's finals, loser's finals, and grand finals, which are best of 5. Each stage of the bracket will last up to one week. In that time, you are responsible for figuring out when you and your opponent will be able to race. If one or both players set to race will be completely unavailable for their match, please let an organizer know immediately. Depending on the status of the tournament at that time, it may be possible to postpone your match without disrupting bracket. If you do not let a TO know, you may be disqualified. In the event of a dispute with a match, a TO will analyze both runners' footage and determine a result. Please try to record all of your matches, as runs without video evidence cannot be verified by a third party.

If you're asking about All Courses, you don't need video proof for real-time runs slower than 14:00 (16:00 for No Booster), unless it would be WR.
For ILs, picture evidence is allowed. You'll need to submit your Booster's stats as well as a picture of the Ghost Race results screen, showing all three lap times and the total. If it was a time from a Race with Rivals without video, we won't be able to verify those, since the time by itself doesn't give us enough info.
Video is recommended, of course, and phone/webcam footage would be perfectly fine for that.

That's super interesting! if there were some way to activate it mid-run that could be crazy useful (maybe F1 resetting to main menu after Benbo City?). I could see a zip like that making the Underground way quicker too. I'll play around with it and see what I can find.
Does the ctrl instakill only work on the house?
EDIT: I was rewatching a stream I did a couple days ago and found something similar. After the bike section in Benbo City, i was pushed into the loading zone during the dismounting cutscene. I entered sideways and started the Barrier fight the same way. Looks like I was technically able to punch but the game crashed when I tried.
Sorry to keep bothering you guys, but I think I was removed as moderator of the StreetPass series ( https://www.speedrun.com/streetpass ) by accident when some games were added to it, since now it has no mods at all.
