The Diddy Kong Racing remake for the Nintendo DS is objectively better, with an overall polished look, more playable characters including (but not limited to) Taj and Drumstick, touch controls, DS Mic™ utilization, bonus tracks, wish races, vehicle customization, and balloon touch challenges. All in all, Diddy Kong Racing on the Nintendo 64™ ranks a 4/10, while the Nintendo DS™ counterpart ranks a solid 9/10.

I'd like to play with typical practice codes; starting each stage from the beginning by pressing L and having the ingame timer run in the top right. Which versions of gameshark support these codes? I've seen versions like 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3. Are there any real differences?

minigame first, then specific games second. right now it's flipped so they're displaying horizontally instead of vertically

Times ending in x:xx.100 or x:xx.10 are hard to differentiate. However, there is a bug in the game for the final screen if you end on the frame after x:xx.97.5. It will literally display "100" in your milliseconds place, not 10 milliseconds. For these runs, I will need to add those milliseconds into the seconds place. It is easy to catch these because it's the only number it occurs for and the timer passed x:xx.10 through x:xx.9x until it stops on the x:xx.10 again.

This was discussed between myself and Ihavenonamesda back in 2014, but didn't get caught on runs until more and more runs came in. I've done my best to keep my eye out for one, and this is one I got today: http://www.speedrun.com/run/y8q1ev1y

To compare, this is a run with a real x:xx.10 ending: http://www.speedrun.com/run/mk42koly

So I see you guys made an Any% No BS page. Why not move all previous runs of the game there? Or possible do what they did on www.speedrun.com/jak1 ?

You can begin your next "launch" as soon as you see the pill in Mario's hand again.

The pill will land in the flask depending on the line on the middle of the pill. The farther right that this line is within the colored region, the less time it takes.

This game loves to drop clicks. Between each throw, move your cursor just a little bit to keep it from locking up.

Keep track of what you have thrown. Each flask takes 4 pills. If you have thrown 4 blues, 3 yellows, and 0 reds, be PREPARED to throw reds, but keep your eyes peeled for the yellow.

The timer starts when you click "Play Game". You must be quick from that button to the first launch.

Currently, the rules for All Missions is to complete "All 99 Missions." This brings the ingame percentage to 98% before Dirty Bubble and presumably 99% after the fight, but is never seen because the game file doesn't save.

Here are the 99 known missions. If you have a save file that is showing 99% before Dirty Bubble, reply here with the mission name and position and the rules will be fixed.

The versions you have listed are all correct except the DS version, which is much different than the platform/PC version. A separate page will be made for the DS version of the game.

I will be doing a run on March 18th, and I will be submitting a separate game page. This is similar to the situation with Toy Story 3 and Wall-E when it comes to console/handheld versions.

Right now, there are 3 misc categories on the main page for SMW (not smw memes) that are no cape. Why not just make no cape a subcategory for the main categories? You would be able to specify a 96 exit to 95 exit for no cape in the ruleset for that specific category but the rest shouldn't change anything. Also, there is one category that says "no cape" before the category and it's kind of a silly inconsistency with the other two. Also, this will take off a couple categories from SMW memes and just clean things up in general.

Make "100 Man Challenge" the category and split the difficulties into subcategories.

I made these notes in the Summer of 2015. Let's do full runs instead of segmented runs.

Segment 1: Enter DBB Go right Activate bus stop Enter GL Take bottom path Activate bus stop Bus to DBB Enter Residential Go left Enter JF Top path with 1 jellyfish Activate bus stop Talk to Patrick Bus to DBB Talk to Nancy Go left Enter Residential Go right Enter Squidward's Talk to Squidward Enter Spongebob's TV to channel 5 Get food Paper from fridge Call Krabs Feed Gary and get key Enter Residential Go right Activate bus stop Enter Restaurant Enter KK Collect tips (all but far table) ? Under the 14 Talisman board, it is stated that Crush skip is not allowed.

It is not faster, but it is not banned. If somebody wanted to skip into Crush back when 14 Talisman was Any%, their run wouldn't be rejected or break any rules. When Gulp skip was found, 14 Talisman was kept and the GULP skip restriction was put on it. This was translated wrong into the rules.

How? My game crashes consistently after the first boss, and I don't feel like it's in my control. Using the most recent Steam version.

Jumpyluff7 years ago

I don't know what I'm looking at but please make use of subcategories.

Jumpyluff7 years ago

If people get over the fact that faster categories "should" be shown first, you could start displaying categories by prominence, competition, and popularity. It's subjective, but overall logical.

Crash Bandicoot - Any% // 100% Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back - 100% // Any% (Go/NoGo as subcategories) // Any% Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped - Any% NIG // 105% // Any% Crash Team Racing - Any% Warpless // 101% // Any% Crash Bash - 1P Any% // 1P 200% // 2P Any% // 2P 201% (MM / No MM as subcategories)

Everything past this seems to be in a good enough order. CTTR Low% being in the spot it is even makes sense by my suggestion already. No complaints past first 5.
