MexicoWell it's more of a "Who cares about android EMU?" kind of situation tbh.
I have seen some android runs, particularly from facebook streamers that are new to the game. They, however, switch to pc EMU once they are around the sub 25 minutes times. And yes, most of them were using bluetooth controllers. Damn high latency gamers right there.
Have you guys ever seen the bottom of EMU 16 stars runs? Consistent lag, false starts on timers, incorrect emulators, incorrect plugins (Particularly the lack of shadows cause by using some of the default plugins), weird controllers, vods deleted, Bubzia's old 16 stars blindfolded PB, etc, etc, etc....
If one of you actually submit an android run, I can almost assure you that it will be accepted, as long as the run is legal, vod is clear with audio, and the submission instructions are correctly followed. And if you have a really good time, you probably are already on anything else other than android EMU.
I would actually like to run this game, but I have no way to record it. (n3ds can't record DS games)
I might just take a camara and do a quick run, maybe later.

I will let you upload the run you do in Online Arcade on the mains categories, and if there are enough people starting to do OA/2SP I will give them a category for them. (AND it's shown that there is actually diference between 2SP and C2C)
For one thing is certain, OutRun 2 and 2SP/C2C do have a pretty important diference; Slipstream. And for that, it probably means that 2SP and C2C are pretty much the same, mechanically speaking.
Still, I would highly recomend you getting C2C as fast as posible, for the OR cars mostly.
I'm not sure about the diference of C2C and Online Arcade. As far as I know they are really similar but had some diferences.
The other thing is that you wont have OR cars.
Maybe we can open a 2SP arcade category, since C2C have it there and I'm assuming that it's pretty much Online Arcade. Doing a test run of 2SP 15 stages, and it took me a whole minute more than my PB, but mostly becuase the car is way slower.
Yeah, normaly Ferraris traffic gives the best MAX speed, but on stream I noticed some normal traffic gives the same MAX speed that some Ferraris (namely, the purples cars and some trucks), but they are generaly slow so they don't hang around the enough to make them really useful. Tho, they are really useful on Deep Lake since there is no rival early on.
Yeah, it isn't RNG, but what makes it not that obvios is the AI, so yeah, as long as you do the same everytime, the trafic will be the same everytime. I actually found a score runner's info about it, to get the max amout of points as consistance as posible.
Yeah, Coniferous Forest is hard, not designed for OutRun Cars, neither Cape Way is tho.

Mexican player here, I just started with Outrun 2006 C2C but I think mods are pretty much dead... my PB is 13secs under 1st place.
(btw, is there something I can do about it? I dunno when this guys are gonna be active)
I watched speedruns casually since last year, but now I want to start with them, I'm interested in Super Monkey Ball, 1080° Snowboard, F-Zero X/GX and Yoshi's Island.
I don't have an video capture tho... so I will go for PC and emu for now.
Any recommendations? Anything to learn more about the speedrun community?
I really like this game, but I don't found neither strats or guides of any sort to help getting a better time. The only thing I have closer to a strat is last's stage of OutRun2, "Cape Way", which is "Stay on the inside of the curve as much as posible", pretty much. (You know, since this game have some sort of magnet, it kinda helps you the closer you are to the side of the track).
Someone have anything? Atleast something to talk about the game.
Is this game dead for SpeedRunning? I hope no, but I guess it is.
My PB for OutRun2 is 13m 43s 704ms with BB512 (OR).
