Hi! Quick question regarding using LiveSplit for running XBox BK. Since adding the WR comparison to my LiveSplit layout, I've been confused as to why it's showing Shado's WR as 2:15:39 instead of the proper 2:13:56. I just found the reason for this: LiveSplit is only looking at times ran on X1 to determine WR, even though X1 and X360 are a single category.

My question is: Is it okay to show that I'm running "X360" on my LiveSplit in order to get the correct comparison, even though I'm actually running on X1?

I'll definitely be giving your FP scarf method a go next run! As for Dingpot, I found what works reasonably well for me that you can see in my current PB (https://www.speedrun.com/bk/run/zn892e9z) at 2:19:03. By getting to the edge of the gold feather door you put yourself at pretty much an exact vertical line to Dingpot so getting the joystick direction correct is easy, and if you stay in that corner for a few second the camera will give you a view of the floor between you and Dingpot's platform. I find jumping from halfway between the wall and the platform has been consistent for me (extending the jump with a Rat-a-tat Rap for good measure). Loses several seconds, but for now while I have easier timesaves throughout the run to achieve first, it's worth it for me.

Regarding the in-game times, I had no idea about not needing to complete the empty honeycombs! Might dedicate a few runs with minor route changes to try for it, will be nice to cut off the final segments of RBB and Winter. For actual IL times, I'm assuming the strat is to dedicate whole runs to a planned few levels where you stack sufficient tokens and plenty of resources before even entering, to make those single levels as efficient as possible? Maybe even something crazy like RBA into Mumbo's just for Ticker Tower? Could be fun to try plan some of these if they haven't already been fully routed.

Hi! Thought I'd post here to save making a new thread seeing as its on the same topic. I've been grinding 100% XBLA (on X1) for the past few weeks and I've just joined speedrun.com as I'm getting to the point that I'd like to submit a run to make it official (just claimed 10th place on the in-game leaderboards :D). I just have a few questions regarding running XBLA Banjo-Kazooie, and I guess speedrun.com in general.

1. At what point does the game write a new PB to the in-game leaderboards? Years ago I vaguely remember reading a forum thread somewhere which mentioned that it's only on exiting a level, so since I care about the ingame leaderboards (at least for now while I haven't been recording for an official submission), I've been re-entering CCW after grabbing Lair Jiggy #10 just to make sure it gets saved. Would be great to know if this isn't necessary to save a few seconds on the Furnace Fun split.

2. On the fence about getting a capture card for the moment, if I don't get one what is the recommended recording setup? I've read that GameDVR has a max of 1 hour for a single recording, so that didn't seem to be an option. I was playing around with Mixer for the first time today, and while I can save the stream VOD, the quality of my internet (damn Australia) results in what looks to be <240p. I'm worried this isn't acceptable quality for a submission (see https://mixer.com/CompanionSph3re?vod=17104690 for the example of my (failed) test run, skip to 1:28:30 for a good laugh at my expense). TBH I would be happy to have a solid reason to buy a capture card, so I won't be upset if the above footage's quality is indeed too poor to submit.

3. Would there be any issue with using an Xbox Elite controller with [A] bound to a paddle so that I can do things like rotating the camera while climbing FEP scarf without claw-gripping the controller? Like with the capture card, I'm on the fence about getting one but this would be a great excuse.

4. Is there a 100% consistent Dingpot-skip strat? Jumping from the egg door I seem to get the skip about 80% of the time, but god damn is missing it the most frustrating thing during a PB-pace run. Related, is there any particular strategy for the RRB Engine Room window clip, maybe something like camera direction or direction faced? Haven't had a run lost to it yet, but sometimes it can take me 20+ seconds to hit it.
