Ohio, USAI cannot get the manip on anything but a Front Loader NES. My top loaders i cannot do. It works power on. Retro Pi's were not really a thing when we found this.
I am a moderator for several games, one that has hundreds of runs. This isn't a good look. Its like you only want certain runs on the boards. I read over the rules as well. It's a long read. Way too over the top IMO. Speedrunning is inclusive to all. Not everyone will put up a top time. Not everyone has the ability to put up a top time. Listing older runs shows landmarks and motivation. Even the current record holder had a time that was around the run you removed at one point. No one starts out at the top. You had a chance to quickly fix this mistake and literally doubled down on it. You created publicity doing this in a very negative way. No one new will want to run the game because of this. I know i would never want to put a time up on this board knowing what went down. Fix this mess. Grow up please. Elite behavior does not belong in our hobby.
I would say its allowed.
Up+A is Save and quit. When you go into the menu and press UP+A on the second controller it lets you save and quit and restart at the start of a dungeon or at the start screen in the overworld. Some runs allow it, and some do not.
This is a thing that can not be done on a working NES controller. (broken ones can do this). Since it can not be done under normal conditions, it cannot be allowed for this game. For something to be allowed in, it has to be Console viable and not just an emulator thing Sadly. Its a neat thing they left it. Just like the Self Destruct thing, it was left in for softlock prevention since this game is programmed so well, lol
I would say its allowed, you will lose 1 seconds per 10 minutes due to HDMI being slower.

I am planning on derping around with this after the z1 tourney. Two questions. How does the the damage boost and floor drop work in the hobo area, and why doesn't this category allow the skip to mars through the movie theater since its an in game thing. Or is that considered a password?

As you can see, the community has spoken on the petition. Community has the say so, not just a few people of the community. New runners would felt discouraged having to pick this up and see what to even compete with a top time, they need to be on par with Jonas? Different strats are there there for different speeds. Just change it back and save some grace out of this mess.
