Tested a few things today. Doesn't look like it works if you kill the last tank and yourself with a barrel explosion, so I'm not sure if there's a way to make a consistent set-up.

I might fiddle around with finding a setup for it in one of the early levels but i dont really have any faith that anything will be consistent enough

Personally I don't think this really requires a category split (at least until a way to do it consistently is found) solely based on how rare it is. Even if we did split the categories this is the only time I've ever done it in a run and I didn't even finish it LOL

In the Flashpoint version of AT, by dying at the same time as you complete the level, if you hit the continue button that shows up when you die, you have a few seconds in the menu to spend money without losing it, sort of. When this happens it looks like the game is exiting the level twice, once for dying and once for beating the level. The second time you leave, you also seem to get the money that you got for exiting the level the first time, duplicating the money you got from that level. This is very precise and I have no idea if there's any way to do this consistently, but if there was someway to do that it could save tons of time.

GGs! Maybe a record I'll never take back because cmg is basically unplayable half of the time. Also, lvl 4 truly is the worst lol.

Recently, I figured out that medium is the fastest any% category. In the strat in my 6:24 run, I use the rocket, as it’s really fast. The thing is, that makes me question whether the strat for hard would be rocket or laser? Because with the amount of money you get in it you can get laser quickly, but especially at the start, it takes it a while to kill enemies. Later on in the game, it may make sense to get both and use laser in some situations, but if anyone else would like to test it out or offer any other strats, there’s definitely a lot of time left to save in all 3 any% categories! :)

  1. Yeah, the formattings not great, I’m pretty new to guides.
  2. That’s an interesting idea, and I’ll be sure to test it out some time soon.
  3. Laser is only good if you have it maxed out because with the rocket you can insta-kill most enemies by spamming.
  4. It’s hard to tell a certain point when you should upgrade everything, but you can generally max out the two movement based upgrades and upgrade armor once before you get rocket, after that the only things you’ll be upgrading is armor and rocket so I just pick whichever one feels more useful. It depends on the run, because you get a different amount of coins in each one. Also, I haven’t thought of any strats quite yet, but a lot of the time that can come off of the record right now come from level 5 and rocket control later on.

How do you make it so the rocket explodes immediately consistently? Does it only work on certain platforms or is there a certain trick to it?
