Hello everyone!

Ripper has made a very exciting announcement for the community and any would-be new runners. For the year of 2020 Ripper has offered four bounties with a total value of $200! These incentives are open to anyone who is looking to run the game other than Ripper and myself (and Brewfj for any%).

Check out Ripper's video announcing his incentive here:

The complete rules for this incentive can be seen here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1m2dkK1VGGuKVtY9L0VJ2oHYuPg_iJ2wXySXGVaF7W0I/edit

Huge thanks to Ripper for organizing these incentives! If you are interested in learning this speedrun you can join our Discord community here: https://discord.gg/NEVJPZk

Just made a Discord server as a few people (myself included) would love having a meeting place for anyone interested in speedrunning this game. It would be nice to start up a community for this!

For anyone who would like to check it out, the link is here: https://discord.gg/NEVJPZk

Hey guys!

I have been running this game for a little over a year now and have enjoyed running it so much! However one thing I have noticed (and struggled with when I began speedrunning myself) is that there is not a lot of updated guides for players brand new to speedruinng MP.

I would like to create a complete, comprehensive beginner's guide to running Metroid Prime. This guide would not only cover what I consider the easiest route for beginning players, but also alternative ways to passing each room, pointing out extra missile and energy tank pickups, and explaining and teaching all the basic techniques of the game (Scan Dashing, L/R jumping, etc.)

The goal would basically be to provide a solid, complete 'go to' guide that would teach brand new players everything they need to know in order to begin speedrunning.

Do you guys think this would be a good idea? I think it would be a cool project, and I plan to start working on it soon.

Any suggestions or comments would be great, thanks!

Hello all, I'm new to speedrunning and have been practicing specifically on Metroid Prime. Once I improve some of my skills, I'd love to submit a run. Currently I do not have any fancy screen capturing cards for my Gamecube. My question is if there are specific rules on how you can record your run. For the time being the only option I can think of is using a camera to record my screen (A tad bit noobish, I know) and I'm wondering if using a camera to record your screen is allowed?

Can I do this? If not, what would the best alternative be? I'd appreciate any insight or ideas.

Thanks guys!
