The PAL category intrigues me in that it looks difficult compared to NTSC, which I think I would enjoy. I believe my Avermedia can convert to PAL (I did see a PAL options under video) but I'll actually have to play around with it once my disc arrives in the mail in like a month.
Is this discord chat still relevant? Link is expired.
Hey Kram,
You're allowed to change regions for your Gamecube, I personally run the game on my Wii, not sure if changing the region for just the memory card will make your gamecube able to run the JAP game, but I don't know much about region changing on the GC.
Check the american ebay site, canadian ebay site seems to be empty handed, here's a link:
As long as you run the game on a legitimate disc, then it's fine. USB loaders and emulators are banned.
I tried doing just act 1 and was 40 minutes in, still at countess trying to level up. Got all the runes required, but was only level 10. So I decided to stop xD (mainly because I had a race starting).
Hi guys,
I've been reading guides and routes for any% sorceress runs for the past couple of days, my only question is how do you guys normally start practicing for a run? I've played this game casually since the first day it came out (on and off), so I'm very familiar with the game. Should I just go for a run right away and whatever time I get is the time I beat? How do you think I should approach it? Maybe take it act by act? Any input helps!
I'm assuming we're going to be using SRL for the races?
Oh lol. ignore that then.
Is someone able to remove me from the sign-up list? Unfortunately I won't be able to participate since it's my father's birthday this weekend as well as mother's day. Happy boo hunting!
hmmm, this sounds interesting... I should probably sharpened my dull LM skills and enter this tournament. I can't do the new route due to me running on the English disc, but it should be fun.
I agree with Jared, I vote no supermods. I rather we settle things as a community and not just rely on one supermod for the "final say" (I'm aware that it wouldn't be just for that, but having normal mods is suffice). I think we are mature enough to construct civil, creative discussion and agree to disagree.
I vote GC for mod, he's active in the community and has been tackling different kinds of concerns throughout the boards. He doesn't start drama and is good at stopping it when it arises.
No one is special, despite what you have been told ;)
Dark,
Thanks GC. I appreciate your time and dedication on these matters :)
If you want to run the game on an USB loader or emulator, go ahead, no one is stopping you from doing so. Your time is just not allowed on these leader-boards if said run was submitted. Play the game your way, just have fun.
p.s. This post isn't directed to anybody in particular, just putting it out there.
Like everyone stated. There's no reason for this to be banned. Like skozzy mentioned, this would only save time if you get the one cycle on the cold room boo. I say un-ban it, save and quit warping is allowed in a lot of other games, why would this one be an exception? Isn't the point of speedrunning to try and beat the game as fast as possible and have fun, why so many restrictions? If the runner submits a run on the leader-board, plays on a disc and uses this save warp, allow it. I see no reason for this to be banned, and like some mentioned, had no idea this was banned in the first place.
I've notice the component cables for the Wii has ugly textures (i could see grain texture on Luigi) compared to the composite cables for the GC as well as the video cutting out for a few seconds. Then again, My Wii component cables were pretty cheap, so it might just be the cable. Happy ghost hunting!
