Hey Reg! Just seeing this now. Keep in touch if you end up recording some runs. I'd love to see the differences in the runs, and I'd be happy to help set up the board as needed.

Found it lads

Announcing a Discord! I don't anticipate it being the most active Discord in the world, but I think it will still be helpful as the community grows so people don't have to @ me on Twitter and stuff, lol.

As with most things: I will make a leaderboard once someone does the run. If you PM me your IL run, I will make a spot for it on the Leaderboard. Pinky promise!

Coming back to this thread to let people know that, finally, a speedrun.com page for this game does exist! Right now, "All Autographs" is the only category, but I'd be more than happy to add any other categories that runners choose to do.

#Introduction

Disneyland Adventures isn't really a game you can "finish." (Other than maybe 100% completion, which seems near impossible.) Because there isn't a concrete ending, I had to be creative and come up with some sort of goal to achieve in order to "speedrun" the game.

This is how "All Autographs" was born. However, this category is certainly arbitrary and by no means the only way to speedrun Disneyland Adventures. Here are some other ideas I had for other speedrun categories (categorized from Most Fun to Least Fun ideas):

#Full Game Categories

##All Hidden Mickeys

  • This seems like the next best category compared to "All Autographs" (or perhaps even better).
  • This category seems particularly good because there's an in-game tracking system for the Hidden Mickeys. (You can check your Hidden Mickeys by using the Photo Albums in the main menu.)
  • There are 98 Hidden Mickeys in total. This category would probably be a little long, but doable in one sitting.

##All Adventure Pins

  • Would require you to do all the quests for all the characters.
  • Some of the quests are quite long. And there are 85 of them. This category could take a while.
  • The pins can be tracked in the Main Menu, so the category isn't super arbitrary, at least.

##All Attraction Pins

  • Would require you to ride every ride in the park and to get every secret on every ride.
  • Since pretty much every ride is an autoscroller, there's not much room for optimization once you get a good route.
  • Some of the rides are fun. But there's a lot of them. This category could take a while.
  • Again, tracked in the Main Menu, so not super arbitrary.

##All Collectible Pins

  • Probably not as fun as "All Adventure Pins."
  • Would mostly require you to grind money to buy the Collectible Pins from the various shops. Which could be tedious, I'd imagine.
  • Again, tracked in the Main Menu, so not super arbitrary.

##All Pin Badges

  • This would be the most feasible 100%-type category, imo. Once again, this category is appealing because the Pin Badges can be tracked in Main Menu.
  • The run would require you to 1) do each and every character's Adventure to get all the Adventure Pins, 2) Get all the secrets on all the attractions to get all the Attraction Pins, and 3) Buy all the Collectible Pins from each shop.
  • One day, perhaps someone stronger and braver than me may come around to do this category.

#IL Categories

Certain land-specific statistics are tracked in-game. Here are some ideas you can do for each land:

  • All Trash Cans (or any item that the wand can interact with)
  • All Autographs
  • All Hidden Mickeys
  • All Attraction

#Conclusion

...and that's all I got. I find speedrun categories most appealing when they're not super arbitrary, which is why I proposed the categories above as alternatives. All of these are tracked in-game, so they make sense as goals.

But don't let me stop you from coming up with your own category ideas! If you have an idea you want to workshop, I'd love to help. Message me on Discord; there's a link in my speedrun.com profile!

Happy running!

Well, you've come to the right place... sort of.

This is the page for the 2017 game Disneyland Adventures, which is a remaster of the 2011 game Kinect Disneyland Adventures.

As far as I can tell from the Wikipedia page, Kinect Disneyland Adventures is a separate game that would require a separate leaderboard.

Nobody's done a recorded run of the Kinect version, so I haven't created another speedrun.com page for it. I'd be happy to get the page setup (assuming someone decides to run the game). Or, if the version differences aren't as significant as I think they are, maybe both versions of the game can live on this page...? I'm just not sure yet, and I figure we'll cross that bridge if/when someone does a run of the Kinect version.

Message me on Discord if you have any questions!

I agree! If you do a run of it, I'd be happy to add it to the leaderboard. You would need to come up with some rules about what constitutes "100%." DM me on Discord (or join the community Discord) if you want to bounce ideas off anyone :)

Hello! For Mirror's Edge, can we please get the Mirror's Edge Category Extensions leaderboard (https://www.speedrun.com/mememe) added as a link to the main game page (https://www.speedrun.com/me)? Thanks in advance for your time!

Hey y'all, voting is completed. 18 votes total: 16 votes for new rules, 1 vote of "I don't care," and 1 vote advocating for a slight rule revision. Because of an overwhelming majority, I've added the rules to the category. Thank you all for your contributions.

Hello everyone!

Below, you can see a link to a Google Form. This is a proposed ruleset change for Glitchless. We want to get the community's input as we make an effort to clarify and specify the rules of Glitchless. The form explains this a little bit as well.

If you have at least one verified time on speedrun.com for Mirror's Edge, then you can vote. Also feel free to chime in on our Discord and ask questions, if you don't understand any of these rules or their purpose.

I will leave this form up for almost exactly one week; voting will cease at 11:59 P.M. EST on Friday, May 1st. Thanks in advance for your input!

Hello! To answer your questions:

  1. Having timing end on the appearance of the credits is, admittedly, arbitrary and not precise (as pointed out by Trademarked). However, it is a long-standing Bee Movie Game tradition that I am reluctant to overrule. If I had to be precise (which there is currently no need to be), I would say timing ends on the first frame of color after the fade-to-black. Here's a screenshot of the frame in question, from NElectron's video at the top of the Credits Warp leaderboard: https://imgur.com/a/kWYnmJ4

  2. I will not add milliseconds to the leaderboard. It would make the meme less funny.

Hello! Sorry for the 7-month delay in responding, but I come to you because someone FINALLY did a full-game run of Any% for DS. There are no big skips that I know of, but I'm going to work on the routing in the next few weeks.

Yeah, everyone else does lol

The Bee Movie Game (DS) leaderboards used to be a part of the https://www.speedrun.com/bmg_pc page. However, since the DS version of the game was made by a different developer / requires different timing rules, this new page was created to use for Bee Movie Game (DS).

I just finished the process of transferring all the runs over. Everything should be good now.

Let me know if there's any confusion.

As part of the move to a new speedrun.com page, I decided to re-examine the timing rules for this particular version of the game. As Silo_Simon justifiably points out in the final seconds of his run, it's dumb that timing ends on the appearance of the ending credits.

I've changed the rules so that timing now ends on the final input of the run: selecting the final quick-time prompt on Montgomery's head during the final boss battle. I will adjust the current runs' times accordingly.

Let me know if there's any confusion, questions, or suggestions.

The Bee Movie Game (Wii) leaderboards used to be a part of https://www.speedrun.com/bmg_pc. However, since the Wii version of the game was made by a different developer / requires different timing rules, this new page was created to use for Bee Movie Game (Wii).

I'm currently in the process of moving the runs from the old leaderboard onto this new page. This process will hopefully be completed within the next 24 hours.

Let me know if there's any confusion.
