Played on April 10th 2024 using AmigaLive.

Not the best start but solid enough. No major mistakes but many small ones. In some parts I went with more risky tactics with the money letting the CPU collect it which sometimes results in you getting less in the shop. In 4-1 opted to go for some money (to ensure a finished run with enough specials) costing me about 2 seconds.

What changed from the last run (17:56):

• Better overall execution.
• 1-4: Faster treasure room letting the CPU get some of the money.
• 2-1: New tactics at the center room letting CPU collect the money and not killing as many enemies saving time.
• 2-3: Got the death warp like it should happen.
• 2-4: Missed some shots costing me maybe a second. Better death warp at the end.
• 3-2: Skipped killing the hands at the end to save time (more risky because you might not have enough money).
• 4-1: Took some of the treasure to lure CPU to go for the rest of it (cost like ~2 seconds).
• 4-2: Finger slipped during the bomb node activation trick so had to use an extra special (time loss: ~2-3 seconds).
• 4-3: Had so much money from the treasure room that I messed up the shop because it didn't automatically go to the exit button. Also a special made me get stuck towards the end of the level (total time loss: ~2 seconds)

With better execution it's very possible to get a sub 17:30 using the same strats. I often got to world 2 more than 10 seconds ahead of the previous WR so there's that 6 seconds already compared to this run. Also, with these tactics I sometimes end up with 40 credits extra when I buy the shield so with riskier tactics you could save multiple seconds still. That being said, overall this run went well enough that further tricks would need to be found for me to try to get a better time.
