i have no problem with this. only concern is going to be hard for non-emulator runners to do IL's
I'm not a huge fan of this. Like what Trushade said, for those that run on console this makes it very hard since we can't level select and can't load save states.
It doesn't seem all that beneficial either?
I'm with EBC here, there's no level select for console users, immediately creating a problem. Honestly, the game is like 12-14 minutes long, is it really necessary to open up this can of worms with xx.xx:xxx just for a level? Just finish the game.
Another issue is, yes the game has a lot of RNG elements associated with it. But we still don't fully understand it. If we allow ILs to be a thing, a person will have a save state before each stage.... if KDL does have a seeding mechanism this could provide an unfair advantage over a console user, there are many more cons to this outside of this obviously, but I think this gets the point across the fastest.
Following ebloodycandy, maybe we can split the IL runs into two, one for emulator runners, and the other the console runners

There is ZERO reason to have ILs for Kirby's Dream Land. Absolutely ZERO. If you want ILs, go run SMB 1, one of the Smash games (similar concept), or something else.
Super Mario Bros 1 use to have ILs or a variant of it, they may have moved it to the SMB Extension.
Alternatively, an idea for those who want IL's is to submit a request for a KDL category extension leaderboard ( such as https://www.speedrun.com/sm64memes ). This will give a section to keep track of individual level records and any other crazy ideas you guys have to say "I have a WR" without putting undue pressure on the mods here to keep track of.
Category extensions would be a happy medium for everyone imo ?
