Hi everyone!
The Tekken Speedrunning Community has recently came to the decision to incorporate a new timing method for several categories in the first three Tekken games. This timing method will be referred to as 'Sum of IGTs', and it is measured by summating every character's IGT during each run of Arcade Mode. For example, in Tekken 3: Unlock Theater Mode, this time will be the total of the 10 IGTs you get when running through Arcade Mode with the 10 default characters.
There's a few reasons why we decided to incorporate this; mainly, RTA for these early Tekken games is no longer 100% reflective of what the 'fastest' run is, due to things like the console the game is ran on and disabling BGM affecting the load times. Of course this is an issue that many speedrunning communities have faced before and have had to either split leaderboards by console or only allow runs performed on the most common consoles, but since Arcade Mode in Tekken has its own built-in solution, that being IGT, we've decided to incorporate it into certain categories on the first three Tekken games.
These categories are:
• Tekken: Unlock All Characters • Tekken: All Characters • Every Tekken 2 Category • Tekken 3: Unlock Theater Mode (No GO Abuse/GO Abuse)
We will not be considering IGT for Tekken 3: Unlock All Endings, because of the fact that unlocking Gon is performed outside of Arcade Mode and so can't be counted via IGT, it makes IGT too inaccurate as a comparison method.
Sum of IGTs will also not be replacing RTA; it isn't a perfect comparison method, as it doesn't take into account things such as menuing, and reduces time penalties for losing rounds, sets and game overs. Sum of IGTs will also not be used as a comparison method past Tekken 3; this is because RTA at least for now, is a fully adequate comparison method for every Tekken game past 3 and while that remains true, Sum of IGTs will not be considered.
So, all future submitted runs for these categories will have to include the Sum of IGTs. Spikestuff has kindly nominated himself to add Sum of IGTs for all of the already-submitted runs, so please bare with him as he counts those. For future runs, you can use this tool (again created by Spikestuff) to add up your IGTs and find the sum; https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/147012063456133120/1019588805747019836/Tekken_IGT_Timing_v1.2.xlsx
That's all for now. Thanks everyone!
So recently I discovered that it is possible to use the Super Juggles cheat during an All Endings run in Tekken 2.
To do so, have a second controller attached, and before you select a character, hold Select+Up on the second controller. Then hold Select between each round. If you don't, you have to hold Select+Up in-between rounds again.
This cheat only works after beating the game with All Default Characters. I've separated the board into 'Cheats Used' and 'No Cheats Used' to reflect this.
Hey guys!
If anyone viewing these boards is interested in speedrunning Tekken, I highly recommend you join our Discord Server, here:

We have a small, but active community and will gladly help any new runners get on their feet!
Hey, just wondering if mods could make a category for players to do runs of the Worms 3D Campaign? Thanks!
