No one mentioned the old Pokemon games?! You'd be able to go to the room after the last elite 4 without even beating any of the gym leaders!

I noticed the only games from the Valkyria series on SRC are ones that have been localised outside of Japan. As Valk Rev has recently been localised, I'm curious to know if there is any interest in running it. It's quite a different experience to the older games in the series.

I timed my RTA time with the first frame of Victory (or as close to it as possible).

I also support the use of IGT, as (as far as I know) once the round starts, no new areas need to be loaded. It's displayed on the screen after the PotG, so it would make videos just a tad longer. Given the lenght of the run and the things that can slow you down (ex. cart being contested) I'd be surprised if we get ties.

Having never speedrun a FF in the current or last generation I have no idea how often updates for these types of games (JRPG/FF) happen, and how often they affect routing among other things.

Having speedrun a reasonable amount of Destiny I can tell you that the game as it is now is nothing like how it was 2 years ago, and some of the tricks/gitches you could do can no longer be performed (due to a patch removing them). That meant that the post 2.1 runs could never be as fast as the pre-2.1 runs(that used a movement trick). Having a game that gets patched/changed often is a bit unpleasant to run.

I'd like to ask the community how often things like this happen for this type of game in the current "always connected to the internet" era.

I noticed that the leaderboards for this game are located at "megamanleaderboards.net". I am curious as to why they are not located here (speedrun.com).

Any reasonable way to help prevent this? (ie. require the footage to be live-streamed before editing)

I thought standard practice was that:

a) A video is required. b) You can only go back to orbit after "Mission Complete" pops up on your screen.

As a video of the whole thing is required, and you have to see "Mission complete" pop up, that should make it very hard (impossible?) to cheat. (unless some crafty editing happened)

Zecora, for the IGT version of this, would your time still count if you exit the mission as soon as the ultra is killed and check your time (vs the current standard of waiting for the "Mission Complete" to pop up)?

Ta'arn and Baxx do get killed in Regicide, so you still end up killing all ultras :)

Just curious, as this sounds quite interesting to run, and I haven't run anything in Destiny for a while. Would this be found under the "Full-game Leaderboard"?

EDIT: Are we required to time it both in RTA and IGT, or can we choose just one? If we require both, we'll have to show the mission timer each time, but if it's RTA only, you could just skip that and go right to the next mission. (saving a bit of time there for RTA only)

Anyone know if MIDA stacks with Keen Scout or Fleet Footed to boost sprint speed?

FF 7 recently came out on the PS4, and it's quite different from the PSX version. Having not played the PC version to compare, I'd like to know if the PS4 version would be in it's own category.

If I may be able to point out, most notably the strikes can usually be completed faster on a harder difficulty (see Nightfalls) because of the burn damages. In those cases, you could say "If you're not running Nightfall, your time will already be slow.". The damage you do/receive also scales with your light level, so you won't be one-shotting everything on easy¤.

¤not counting some exotics and supers.

Have you tried summoning the sparrow as soon as you hear the audio tone (cue?) just before starting the mission? (When you are still in your ship, right around the time the screen goes black) I know it's possible on most missions to get your sparrow almost as soon as the map loads. It might be something to try.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the sparrow continues to move at the same speed, slows down or speeds up while you're in the air.

I also play primarily on the PS4, and what I do is stream to twitch, and have the "archive video" setting thing turned on so it records my videos. Then I go to "highlight" and cut the video to the run that I'll be submitting.

Just confirming that once you've started the mission, you can delete the bounty to keep playing the mission over and over again. I will also be submitting a PB shortly. (1:43)

Not bad for North America and Europe, but not great for Japan.

Class or item restrictions, or whatever works? Any other requirements for the runs?

It seems I haven't done an introduction yet. I've been interested in speedrunning for a while, and only recently started submitting runs. At the moment I'm primarily running Destiny on the PS4 as it is really easy to record runs, and requires no additional software/devices (and I enjoy the game). I'm looking forward to contributing to the community.
