Is Pizza Boy and other mobile emulators acceptable? Im asking cause i cant get mGBA due to no pc
Nope no Android emulator is as accurate as mGba closest you get is mGba core in Retroarch frontend But that's banned on PC as well as Android too as there is no easy way of determining how frontend effects accuracy of Emulator In short you can't Speedrun it on Android(at leas as of now and probably for a long while)
Thats- what? I call that bull... Theres plenty of emulators that works just as well as mGBA 🙄🙄
Edit: nah forget this, if you so claim no other emulators works well just like mGBA then how about you experiment on the other known emulators smfh, cause seriously what you just said is all cap and theres a lot of people who doesnt have a pc and been trying to get themselves on the boards.
Im gonna prove you wrong, i will speedrun on mobile and make you believe mobile emulators works just as well as mGBA >.> feel free to reject every submission that comes in the future, ill still keep posting submissions
It does not matter how well does emu run actually Vba also runs games fine but it was banned beceause it was not as accurate as mGba there is a difference between accuracy and speed Accuracy does not depend on how well the game run but how close is it to real hardware and mGba is the closest we have to it . Even mGba is around 40 seconds faster(comparing vanilla Fire Red) then real hardware and other emulators are even worse And all the Gba emulators on Android are meant to just run good not be accurate as to be accurate emulator need to sacrifice some performace and some lower end devices might struggle to run this To prove how inaccurate these emulator are you can try doing Rng Manip for Fire Red or it's rom hacks and you will probably have no success most of the emu might not even give you option to use Gba Bios which kills accuracy even further I hope it makes it clear or you can join Pokemon Gen 1-3 Speedrun Discord for further discussion
Seconding Hunar. In order for runs to be comparable to one another, they need to be completed under pretty much identical conditions. We are matching the same ruleset as the main series (e.g. Emerald, Ruby/Sapphire) and that requires runs to be completed on mGBA.
I apologize, but we can make no exceptions to allowing other emulators (including mobile) to the leaderboards.
Then how is mobile people (who doesnt have the money to get a pc) supposed to submit their stuff? Idk it feels like almost every other emu is banned from the pokemon speedruns
There is nothing we can do though If any one of android emulator was made to be accurate rather than fast and even if it as comparable to mGba rather than Console still we would consider that as there are a lot of people who wants to run on Android
Yep, this and the fact that there is likely a large difference in emulator performance between mobile devices, whereas mGBA runs almost nearly identically between different PCs. Therefore even runs on mobile wouldn't be comparable to each other.
Smooth ≠ Accurate And we can't just accept an emulator on one's perspective Testing on emulator's accuracy is done before any decision is made
💀 ig thats fair, ngl at first i thought you were trying to be rude but im starting to see that you werent 👉👈
I already wanted to see if I could do a speedrun on a cell phone but I see that it can't, I got excited for a moment...
