Sure, there are already runs whose video contain multiple trials, even more than 2, so it shouldn't be a problem as long as you time stamp the start of each segment.
Hello, me and a friend did some 2 players runs for fun (I'm uploading it in the next days as soon as I have some free time), following the same game rules and timing rules of the current 1 player leaderboards, only round 1.
So I take this opportunity to refresh this thread by asking if the 2 players category could be added please.
It took me 4 days just to realize I've read the title wrong.
So to correct myself, my previous message stands if you want only 30 and 60 FPS options, but if your FPS don't change despite you switching them in the options, it is likely to be you forgot Vsync active, so switch that off and when you apply the FPS changes they should stay the way you set them.
If that doesn't work, I renew the suggestion to join the server because it might be hardware related(?)
If the in-game settings don't display 60FPS as an option to choose, try setting your monitor refresh rate to 60Hz. That should make 60FPS option available in the in-game settings.
Otherwise you can just try to force the cap with external programs or with the video card control panel.
In case the solutions above don't work, I recommend joining the server and ask there for tech support, the game FPS can be really weird depending on the monitor settings.
Although not on speedrun.com, there are some leaderboards for miscellaneous categories created by some runners and curated by runner Raymandicoot with quite some runs.
There are a bunch of categories of all kind and for all 3 games, basically a lot of ideas which weren't accepted in the Category Extension page too, you can find them here: https://www.twitch.tv/raymandicoot1/about
I'm not aware if they are still active, but you could try contacting him if you are interested in those.
I appreciate that, thank you! Although may I ask why it was decided to time them with Real Time while the full game runs are timed through In-game Time? I guess it is to avoid pausing during runs so to freeze the In-game timer, but I believe that could be just be banned (or allowed if runners prefer to do that, I personally would avoid it).
Also, I've read the rules for Individual Levels and have a couple of questions:
- If I press "Retry" or "Restart" after dying in the level or just by bringing up the menu while in the stage, does the time start since I press that button or must the run start from the Time Attack selection menu?
- What frame exactly is the final dig block? Is it the very last coloured block that I mine or it means when Mr. Driller lands on the final brown wall?
Thank you for the feedback and for adding the PS2 platform! I'll give full game runs a try one day (once I get better at the game to finish runs, which I'm practicing for), so to make that addition worth.
I personally was more interested in single Time Attack stages exactly due to their short lenght, which I've recorded runs for each ones yesterday. Personally, at the moment I wouldn't like to run them all in a row for a full game run, so I would say if no one else is interested in it then no need to add All Time Attack stages, I appreciate the offer and you being open to add it though, thanks!
Hello, I recently picked up this game on Namcollection version and did some Time Attack runs, but checking the leaderboards I see that there aren't Individual Levels leaderboards for those, is there the possibility to add them if there are runs available for submission and of course if anyone else is interested in them, or are that not possible for any reason? (f.e. if there is already a website for those which I'm not aware of)
Also, I see that between the available platforms for submission is missing the Playstation 2 (PS2), may that be added for those playing on PS2 as Namcollection is a Playstation 2 only disc?
Sorry for the double request, I hope to receive a feedback from you on the matters, thank you for reading this!
I'm not sure if there is an easier way to execute it, some runners prefer to do the glitch high jumps to the portal, some just slide-jump to it, try both method and see if you find one better.
In case you don't know it already, you'll know if the glitch setup worked if the camera shakes a bit after you restarted before touching the portal, in case it might help you this video has a little clip of its execution at the begin
I hope it'll help you!
Basically, you wanna land on the edge of the floor after the bridge while the second last crate is about to spawn so that spinning while it is about to appear breaks it immediately.
It can be tricky to do, you have to find your own timing for that, you usually wait for couple of boxes to spawn so to be sure you won't reach the other side before that crate also does.
