time is 4:16, starting time begins not from tutorial
Several days ago, i discovered one important thing, it's all about the end of losing. As knows at this moment, on both platforms game, there is special moment of losing control to character. On PC platform, the end of losing control is on first frame explosion from last boss. On console - a way bit earlier, about 59 frames (in 60 fps) or .983 milliseconds. This is several times less than usual for the usual completion of the game. But we follow the rules that are prescribed for the game, it is worth taking this into account every time. Therefore, the end time is different for the two platforms, we do not touch the beginning because everything is fine there. In our discord server, I just described all these moments with pictures and videos, so if anyone is interested, come and read https://discord.gg/tZA7v3zteS And in this regard, all runs adjusted to exact times for all platforms
yo, congratz with your improvement time, crazy!
i saw how sye990 used Continue and starting from level 1 "New Junk City", so answer is Yes, but, time should starts from hitting the button on choosing level New Junk City.
agreed, need time for this, then, need to make a decision
all any suggestions are welcome to improve speedrun page
Alright, discussion started and someone spotted some strange difference, need a comparison video between PC and PS4. And what about Nintendo Switch and Xbox One version?
And was no mentions before, like patch notes or something like that, if it really happened that way, we only see a significant difference between different versions, and it was all hidden
4 categories for 4 difficulties was added 1 week ago now we have PS3 Emulator and Console, Xbox One console and Xbox 360 Console gl
@sye990 I want to hear your suggestion about the category for consoles and emulators: For Consoles PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One For Emulators PS3, Xbox 360
P.S. For Xbox consoles was there are separate categories, and not one whole platform
Okay, one for you only (apparently), created separate category for Xbox One console
Just keep in mind when adding in the description of speedrun on which console it was played
P.S. Perhaps i'll redacted categories for comfortable
About 'fast disc speed' there was no mention of it.
Play a game that is faster in loading speed than on another console, too, it does not make sense to speed up, because there will be an advantage only in the loading speed of the levels themselves. Then I wouldn't add a category for the Xbox One / Xbox Series platforms, and leave only the PS3 and Xbox 360
If you want, take the time and compare the loading time of the levels for Xbox 360 and Xbox One / Xbox Series since the start of the game, I think the difference will be noticeable
I'll explain this moment:
On the Xbox One, there is a so-called "backward compatibility", the same is present on the Xbox Series console. The fact is that the speed of loading levels for the Xbox One consoles is about 5 seconds, while on the Xbox 360 it is about 8 seconds, or even more, and this is noticeable when compared with the two consoles. So I compared this moment on YouTube and here. I found a video (any absolutely) where the user played this game on the Xbox 360 and I measured the loading time of the first level. It all depends on the type of HDD, what it is originally arranged from the factory and manufacturer of these hard drives, and what the read speed is also depends on the manufacturer. So I decided that those who will run this game on the Xbox One console will be treated as an emulator speedrun. Because it gives some advantage only on level loads. For the PS3 emulator, loading is also about ~5 seconds, and approximately equal to Xbox One consoles. But I have already made the division of platforms consoles and type of console into two categories: PS3 and Xbox 360, Console and Emulator. To emulator category I will take the Xenia emulator and the original Xbox One/Xbox Series console.
And there is no point in adding a separate platform, since the game was exclusively released on PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows Phone. For Xbox One/Xbox Series not released officially as separate game, but it available for playing with using backward compatibility
Therefore, I want to pay attention to editing the speedrun before pending it to the leaderboard in any% category and any% co-op category.
Thanks for attention.
Greetings. From this moment, I will control this page of the site speedrun.com Within a few days, I will be drawing up new rules, new categories, and some changes that will be made to create a speedrun. So I can say in advance that there will be a division of the category into console and emulator runs. Because there is a difference in the level loads, between Original PS3 console and PS3 emulator. About Xbox One with backward compatibility to launch the game, me need the time of the investigation and to which category to refer. Thank for the attention
@starsmiley i submitted the run in Earthworm Jim HD, the run verification was added automatically
