I think that there could be a way to speed up the load times of the big fish games version of I Spy Treasure hunt. I recently began running I Spy Fantasy's Big Fish Games version which is available to this day through big fish's official store. That version consistently loads significantly faster than the BFG version of Treasure Hunt. Treasure Hunt is no longer offered via the BFG launcher so the people running that version of the game are just running the old exe file. If someone could find a way to run the BFG version natively through it's launcher it's possible the game would load as fast as Fantasy does. I have no idea how this would work though.

If I were to make a discord server for runners of this game would anyone use it? It's been something I've been thinking about for a while and I wanna gauge the reaction

That makes sense. I have a copy of the CD version, but due to the slower speed of the optical drive I didn't want to run it. I didn't realize that Big Fish was still selling it, so I'll probably go that route. Thanks!

I'm looking to possibly start running this game but don't have a ROM of it and am not super comfortable downloading stuff from archive sites cause anxiety. Does anyone have a ROM that they'd be willing to send me?

It may be fun if we could have a category to see who can do the map + rocks section of the 1st puzzle the fastest, kinda like an IL. Time would start when clicking the map for the first time and it ends when the final rock is placed. I'll post the map practice file in resources which allows for starting this run very easily, you just have to go to the fort.

As far as I know that is the first time hearing about this. I'm unsure if it will help, but try running the game and then hitting the windows key and adjusting the resolution in settings. The changes might be reverted when you get back in game though.

So I have come back and done a run with a computer that has an optical drive. I can confirm that it does indeed speed up the loading times significantly which is pretty sick.

After going through all the runs I've realized that one of the things needed to improve my time is a way to speed up the load times. I was wondering how people were running the game, so I can compare it to my own method. For me I have the disc and am using an optical drive that plugs into my laptop (or my friend's computer as in my recorded run). Eventually I plan to build a computer with an optical drive, but will that effect the load times?

Nvm XYX said the DVD was faster, so maybe making cd a subcategory would be appropriate. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Apparently there is also a plug&play (or DVD game?) version which is completely different from the CD version. I could not tell which one is faster, but I think it may make sense to categorize them differently because they are so different.

From what I have found there are two versions of the game. One version only has the first two rounds, and the other version has all three. It would make sense to have a category for two treasures imo, but idk.
