first and only time I've ever had this happen, not sure if this is common or even known of so I thought I'd share

I think it has to do with the weapon throw animation?

I just started replaying this game a month ago I was 11 when it came out and it was favorite in the arcade I had to wait to play it and would die in 2 mins, but i am playing it on mame now with a snes emulator controller and im addicted again, i have never seen that skip but the was a time where i jumped thrun a fireball and didnt lose armor which seemed glitchy to me but im playing on world version good luck in your runs.
