The level end glitch is only in the original wad of the game and NOT in the CQ 1 - 3 compilation. I don't think source ports will make a difference.
I run Win10 and it works fine. You just need to run the WAD file through a sourceport. I suggest using the PrBoom build found in the resources tab. Alternatively you can run that wad on GZDoom. Let me know if you have any more issues.
hey does regular zdoom work for speedruns or gz/prboom+ only because i like zdoom better than gzdoom
ZDoom goes with the GZDoom category, so it would be perfectly okay to speedrun with ZDoom. ZDoom and GZDoom have their own separate category because the physics are very different from the other source ports which is what I've been told. If you look at the GZDoom category for speedruns, you'll see that some players have indeed used ZDoom as their source port.
