I ended up hearing back from the mod, which is awesome. Categories have been added.

So then in theory, blindfolded runs are acceptable as categories? I was mainly unsure about whether or not the blindfold used in said runs would be considered "legitimate", as I imagine someone who lacks integrity could totally fake the run. I run a game that is ~7 mins to complete, but blindfolded can make it significantly harder. I tested it and was able to finish in 9:59. Since it may be worthwhile as a category, I will look into it!

I have two quick questions regarding the site.

1. Are blindfolded runs able to be categories? Or are there reasons there aren't any (at least that I've seen, there may be some).

2. How can new categories be added? I see people say "ask the mod of the game" but I have asked with no response. Are other mods able to add the categories I am looking for? They are logical categories based on difficulty (easy, normal, hard).

Looks to be a legitimate run. I didn't listen to the audio of the video as I am currently at work, but even if the run has full commentary that is "guide" like, it would STILL be a speedrun if you met all the rule requirements.

Curious to see what others say.

Quick question guys, where do I suggest new categories for existing games?

My name is Topsy, and I am relatively new to the speedrunning community.

Although my account was just made yesterday, I have been actively browsing this site for over a year. I began learning Super Mario 64 16 star runs back in December of 2015 when a friend of mine shared a video of someone doing it. It sparked my interest and brought me to realize the incredible precision needed to speedrun a game.

Since then, I have grown as a speedrunner and feel it necessary to make an appearance on the site! Currently, I run SM64 16 star (I would love to expand this and learn 120 star eventually), Super Metroid any% (also interested in 100%), and Shaq Fu. Over the course of the next week, I will work on getting times submitted to the site!

As for other games I would like to learn, I will mostly be gearing towards games that are off the beaten path. SM64 and SM are as mainstream as it gets, which is why I would like to expand my horizon and find strange games to run!

Twitch is where I broadcast all of my video game endeavors, I'm highly active on there and can be easily reached!

I reached out to Dugongue, hoping for a reply soon. I had just realized that there was only a single moderator for the game and I thought it would be worthwhile to give it a shot and update some interesting categories.

Shaq Fu doesn't get enough love. I would like to respectfully request moderator status for the game. As one of the only people who runs the game, streams the game, and well.... cares about the game, I think I would do well moderating such a cult classic.
